President Joe Biden is reportedly seeking to revive a project that would construct a high-speed railway from Houston to Dallas in Texas utilizing Japanese bullet trains.
According to a Reuters report on Tuesday, citing unnamed administration sources, the White House is looking to make an announcement on the project following talks between Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Washington, D.C., this week.
The Japanese government and the White House declined to comment on the report, though the project has seen renewed support from Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who told KXAS in Fort Worth on Sunday: “We believe in this.”
First of all , they’ll probaby embezzle all the money and have nothing to shie for it 10 years from now - if it even gets that far.
But second, Houston to Dallas? Who wants that? Most people in Houston would rather build a wall around Dallas to keep them out
>On average, 24,300 people travel between the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Houston every day, there are 900 monthly flights , or 30 per day, between the Dallas-Fort Worth Area and Houston.
so quite a few people apparently.
It doesn’t even make the top ten busiest US domestic route list
Yeah but a lot of those busiest ones are already covered by the Northeast Corridor for trains
I get it. I used to live in Houston and its kind of a joke about how much people in Houston hate Dallas and people from there
The people who commute regularly between them. Planes are expensive and TSA makes it more time consuming.
But have you considered that Dallas sucks?
Its in Texas. What else would you expect?
fair, but some parts of the city look nice
I can’t forgive running light rail every 20 minutes though
