It’s a good vibe movie. The most I can say of the plot is that it does exist. It succeeds for being very quotable and an interesting window into a certain time and place. I would actually recommend it to young people if they want to understand what mall culture used to be like.

It’s a solid stoner comedy, despite containing about two and a half stoners.

… are there any films in that archetype with no actual drug use? God Awful Movies covers a lot of Mormon films, and I don’t recall any there.

Dude been obese for decades than dropped a lot of weight.

The constantly surprised expression is a combination of issues from skin stretching and trying to “keep it tight” and just legitimately having a shit ton more energy then you’re used to.

Like, he probably lost over 100lbs in his 40s, it’s a huge change in a lot of ways.

no, he constantly pulls that stupid face, like in every photo. even in the movies, the latest clerks, he’s constantly giving the eyebrows a workout. silent bob was a quiet and stoic character, a perfect counterpoint to jay’s motormouth. now, it’s a fucking explosion of hyperactivity and facial contortions, like can you chill out for second dude?

Mallrats was awesome. I still reference it whenever I hear the words Easter Bunny, Hartford, schooner, or the phrase “the customer is always right”…
