I heard this show was extremely centrist lib, but “Everybody, even the bad guys are all winners” is the most centrist ending to a show I think I’ve ever heard.
excuse me? I’m pretty sure the faction that controls New Vegas will be pretty assuredly the winner.
It’s foreshadowing for how Libs will cope when Russia takes Kiev.
No you don’t understand, Caesar and Lanius both being killed at the battle of Hoover Dam before the Legion retreated in shambles actually means that they won!
E: Also House being dead thinks he won
when you beat that smug prick to death with a golf club but his computers all still insist he’s doing great and hes still in control
a future even obsidian couldn’t predict
House is alive and well in Lucky 38
Which means that the canon ending to New Vegas is either:
- Mr House wins
- The player left and never completed the game.
And it’s looking to be the second option which is profoundly Bethesda quality.
E:!!!
HOLY HELL DOES THAT MEAN THE ENCLAVE WINS?!?!?!
Please for the love of god let them not try to humanize the Legion please don’t humanize the Legion.
hand on lathe Female legionnaires
The legion in the trailer are all feral ghouls, so the have dehumanised them(Literally) if anything.
The Kings are all ghouls. The Legion is still as it was.
Huh, I thought I remembered seeing legion ghouls. Egg on my face.
Yeah, actually the Hoover Dam wasn’t that big of a deal after all. It’s stupid but with the NCR capital being relocated to LA and then nuked, Hoover would be less important.
The rest of the NCR is more North with the Gecko Nuclear plant and synthetic bio-fuel from Shi territory.
My only gripe with the show is that they insisted on it being canon. All they had to do was not do that.
I honestly kind of hate the idea of canon when it comes to things like this anyway. I enjoyed it as its own thing
I’m not going to watch this show and I think it’s stupid that, out of the entire world and timeline, they picked something that clashes with a game.
It specifically only clashes with the games Bethesda didn’t make. And that are the most liked and people are more attached to
Never think that Todd Howard doesn’t know what the fans think about him, and isn’t extremely chiffed about it.
I figured it was a big f u to everyone not liking the Bethesda Fallouts
I watched a couple episodes and couldn’t get into it. I wish the writers of adaptations were more involved in the creative process for the adaptations
i kinda wanna see them explore europe or something, itd be funny if theyre just fine
europe had resource wars and were pretty fucked before the bombs flew
They should show glimpse of China and show its doing relatively well
Meanwhile in China montage of everyone enjoying FALGSC and sipping tea poshly
iirc the US had been somewhat successfully invading mainland china (what no microtransistor does to a motherfucker) and it’s intentionally ambiguous who launched nukes first.
the only places that are doing well (bethesda not understanding how time works aside) would be places that didn’t get nuked and didn’t get too fucked by the pre-nuclear war or the fallout
I know but NCR also eventually rebuilt a new civilization until
remembred the epic nuke quest in fallout 3 and nuked shady sands.NCR was reproducing somewhere between neoliberalism and manifest destiny. quality of life may vary.

Actually time dragon say everything happened
I’ll still pirate this slop but I don’t know if I’ll finish it. I’m already turned off since it look like my favourite faction The Kings have been reduced to feral ghouls.
also what’s the point of setting it in New Vegas if they’re going to try their best not to have any solid links to the game? Just set the show somewhere new at that point and have a blank canvas to work with
I think they’re just being vague as a marketing gimmick
I am not into superhero movies so when the marvel dialogue started in s1 i stopped watching the show i really can’t understand why it’s so highly rated but im not a big TV person
I’m glad you voiced your opinion cuz everybody had me feelin like i was the only one who thought the show was ho-hum at best
i don’t like to be the one to yuck ppl’s yum but i liked new vegas game the best (only played 3, NV & 4, only finished NV ever, played that game to death when it came out) which was goofy all over but it also tried its best to maintain a serious and believable post-post apocalypse. according to the most discerning video essayists that was the case in FO 1 & 2 so I guess my expectations for the show came from that understanding of FO but I suppose that was a bit naive.
God that shit is everywhere.
Thats stupid, considering which faction has the most quests we all know the NCR ending is cannon for NV.
It isn’t any more, it can’t be. The games if they ever choose to continue the story (lol) will assume that the NCR exploded, the legion are all ghouls and that house was alive at least until this season of the show.
Yup, somehow the NCR got nuked? Maybe lonesome road is cannon, wait I dont think shady sands gets targeted?
I think in lonesome road the choices were between nuking a nearby legion or NCR camp (Or both or neither), not their capitals. We don’t really know much about flagstaff though.
Yeah I dont get the cannon implications of Shady Sands getting nuked
The implication is that they didn’t want there to be a centralised government at all and especially not one serving as a direct parallel to the US government in the bethesda fallout world.
I think in part because it’s harder to tell what they believe a “Fallout story” is in such a world. However I think the whole “Wow the world moved on without us, reclamation day is pointless” revelation that the main character has would make more sense if the NCR were still around.Yeah it was pointless and did little more to piss off NV fans, the problem is that despite being called Fallout the game is so incredibly post post fallout that civilization not being rebuilt is absurd. It would be almost as absurd as if civilization simply never rebuilt after the fall of the Roman Empire.
cowards.
I hate the current "we won’t pick a canon ending, every possible ending could have happened " trend (at least it’s occurring too much on media I consume). Stop being a coward and pick an ending
They should always pick the worst ending to get the most juice to work with. Make the Legion win and have everything be more fucked (somehow). Come on!
I didn’t watch s1 and I’m on the fence on even watching this show but wtf is up with putting ending spoilers right in the article title
Isnt Mr House still around?
no, Rene died a few years ago
Oh absolutely they’ll keep him, he’s too Iconic (said in the breathy, reverent, Marks and Spencer ad-voice). Doesn’t matter how the narrative has to contort, he’s gonna be on the plot board with three underlines and a exclamation mark.
It’ll be probably like the Hoover Dam got destroyed or some shit because no way House doesn’t win with his murder bots.
