  • ‘CNN reported that the Department of Justice was discussing denying trans people’s right to possess firearms on the rationale that transgenderism is “mental illness.”’

The fuckin’ gall!! Defending you and your people from state tyrants is not mental illness. It is self-defense. These old geezer’s in charge are the generation that would call a wife openly disagreeing with them mental illness to shut them up and imprison them.

Mental illness is surrounding yourself with delusional yes-men and working to protect a president who serially SAs because you’re desperate for power. It’s psychopathy, and it is capitalism that makes and promotes these people to the top of all the organized groups.

  • Patel is lying. Here’s one from Epsteins Birthday book that got released.

That is a picture of mar-a-logo in the background. The picture comes from Joel Pashcow who put it in the book.

‘Pashcow introduced Epstein to Trump in the 1990s when all three moved in the same social circles in both Palm Beach and in New York’ according to the Daily Mail

Meanwhile on 9/11, one day after Kirk was killed, Maga Senate Republicans defended Trump by stopping the release of the Epstein Files with a 51-49 vote. What a convenient time for a narrative changing event for the media.

He went to UVU one semester and then left and went to trade school as an electrical apprentice. I highly doubt he got radicalized at college in Utah. He was already radicalized by his parents and family in the MAGA / Mormon spheres. It takes longer than a semester to deconstruct cult level beliefs like that. There is very little to any evidence that his roommate is trans. It is all hearsay picked up from places like 4-chan then spread to right-wing rags then spread to right wing politicans. A big loooong game of telephone. It isn’t even clear he lived there at the time of the shooting. The Daily Mail said he lives with his family in a $600,000 six-bedroom home.

The reason the trans - fan fic is getting spread by right-wingers is that the federal authorities are using it to get jurisdiction from the state since that could make it classify as a hate crime. Even if the roommate is trans that doesn’t mean they aren’t a right-wing trans person. Trans people can have shitty views just like any other group of people.

It doesn’t help that the FBI and news outlets are releasing different info to different news audiences to muddy the waters. Just the meta-data of this being the 3rd trans related storyline being pushed does not inspire confidence in it’s veracity. The first TRN one was debunked and retracted, but then they claim the engravings point to trans- ideology when that isn’t really apparent. Then they come up with another one. Sorry, not buying right-wingers making shit up to blame it on trans people.

  • Very good point, I wasn’t aware of how that prisons are more profitable than asylums. It makes it seem like the prison companies and republicans might have had some motives in common to push for ending asylums. Prison companies obviously would want more slaves prisoners to increase profit. Republicans would see it as a built in source of voter suppression in certain urban generally left leaning areas since prisoners either can’t vote or vote in different more generally rural areas. This goes to show that economic and political interests can have a big effect on issues like this that seem like more social issues at first glance.

  • I get that people only have a limited energy to engage with people they don’t know as our time is limited. Having said that I don’t believe I am wrong, since you’ve not even attempted to engage with what I said, and have instead chosen insults. If you do decide to care in the future, I would be open to conversing.

Edit Response: I don’t hate PBS and I don’t want to hurt your feelings or spread bad ideas. I simply have the media literacy to understand that PBS is politically biased towards a corporate US ideology that is not above spreading propaganda to mislead viewers. As I said before, I do think it is better run than most broadcast stations, but I am still critical of it’s choices, since it is bad practice to blindly trust even ‘good’ new sources without being aware of their bias.

  • Sorry to break it to you, but PBS Newshour is not immune to corporate and political bias, just because it is(was? Idk honestly) partially publicly funded. They have sponsors to please and viewers to pander to just like other stations. I do generally think they are better than most broadcast news but they are still biased towards a general pro-corporate sanitized viewpoint. If a CEO (or any important western figurehead) dies they aren’t going to focus on harms they did, they will focus on telling how they were such a great loving family man regardless of if it is true.

  • Why do you disbelieve me? Do you think that PBS news wouldn’t focus on the political beliefs of a political activist without actually mentioning what those beliefs are when eulogizing him? They talked about how he was big in the Maga movement and how he was close to trump, but they didn’t mention any of his horrible views that he got flack for. When you don’t mention what his actual horrible views were and instead focus on a bunch of politicians’ generic condemnation of political violence, It’s not exactly a stretch to think that a viewer could think he was killed for his opinions or his political stance. PBS didn’t say that directly, but they don’t have to for people to take that message away.

  • I heard something like that from 2 different ‘news’ sources. One was Fox News and the other was PBS news. The PBS one was a lot less direct, but some rando who knew nothing about him could still take that message away. Zero mention of what he advocated for beyond challenging opinions on college campuses and mentioning he was a right wing influencer. They were playing up the think of the CEO’s family card just like they did with the UHC CEO. Oh and don’t forget the 247 (/s) random politicians who condemn political violence.
