  • You’re talking about interacting with people on a real level, but you are doing it over the internet. You actually want to make a change? It starts offline.

Also, this is an overall post about how Israel demands international law protect them while binding anyone they choose to bomb. Democrats, actual party officials and leadership, agree with those demands just as much as Republicans.

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongiside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Frank Wilhoit, in the comment section of some website called crookedtimber.org, 03/22/18

now its a quote, and I typed it out by hand rather than copy/paste. Upvote please.

  • Civil war my ass. The actual civil war had a clear geographic and economic divide between a manufacturing, wage-labor north and an agrarian, slave-owning south.

The fuck kind of divide is this supposed to be over today? Left/right culture war? Most people are still completely checked out. Yankees are very very comfortable (precarious comfort, but still comfortable) and lead 99.99% identical lives to one another. There is not going to be a civil war.

  • OK, but there are barriers of entry to piracy. You have to be tech literate enough to know what to do, and you have to be on top of the latest developments to know where to even go to get the files… and you must have heard about the book from somewhere, presumably some people had to buy and read it first.

There will never be a text published with 100% piracy rate. It’s a fantastical scenario.
