Civ 4 is the best though. They got that right
I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe… Piss ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion… I watched Pee-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like piss in rain…

Western institutions still failing to understand that GDP is a made up number.
And then to claim China is declining. Peak westoid cope.
Of course this is the FT, so what they are really talking about is the prospects of grifting money out of the country not being good anymore.

Homeowner’s dream. Speculator’s nightmare

This is a huge blow, skibidi Biden, Biden

The only thing ghouls can promise is war, death and the destruction of nature. The sooner Western hegemony collapses the sooner humanity can get on with cooperation and prosperity for all.

Read like any of the replies in this thread, I beg of you.

It’s very good. The sequel, not so much from what I hear.
The strength of supreme commander comes from the ability to chain up multiple commands across units, buildings and waypoints. So you can have 20 factories, whose rally point is a ferry waypoint where 10 or so dropships fly your mass produced units across the map to a secret, stealth cloaked bridgehead you’ve built on the enemy’s continent. Or you can have bombers and fighters build and then automatically join a patrol. You can build repair bases near these routes so that they can quickly reload or repair intelligently without your intervention. You can tell factories to just constantly churn out units, and you can copy and paste whole arrays of buildings to allow for incredibly fast base building. Adjacent buildings also give each other boosts and efficiencies.
It has some really great strategic and tactical weapons and base defenses. The super weapons are really fun and due to the games scale, never op. The late game nuclear warfare is a hoot, with your main objective being too try and make a hole in your enemies nuclear interceptor shield so you can land a nuke.
Your supreme commander and subcommander builder units can be upgraded with all kinds of add-ons, including teleporters that you can use to teleport them into an enemy base and then nuclear self-destruct.
There’s land, sea, submarine and air combat with aircraft carriers that can carry up to a hundred aircraft. There’s also submarine aircraft carriers, land aircraft carriers and flying aircraft carriers.
The game is genuinely incredible.

I got so good at supreme commander that I could 3vs1 my TeamSpeak friends and whoop them every time. Eventually they wouldn’t play with me.
I suck at every other RTS.
Also I’m an incredible lover, for real

I genuinely thought Blockchain technology was the worst thing to happen for Earth’s climate, and then techbro grifters and capitalists came out with a technology with an even less favourable use case to environmental destruction ratio.
The planet is already fucked and these bastards have just found yet one more way to stick the boot in and hasten the end.
This is just one issue I have with it. On top of that we have the inevitable financial crash that will affect us plebs more than the elites, the job losses and further concentration of capital in the hands of the few, assuming AI actually delivers on its promises, and the mountains of brain rotting slop that it spits out. Oh, I also forgot the cost inflation of computer parts and energy bills for regular people.
What’s so great about AI that you can ignore all of this? Was your life pre-LLM unliveable or something?

In the same way that a reader doesn’t want to read an AI novel, why would a gamer want to pay an AI game?
Ultimately it’s art, and the human connection matters.

I’d watch an Immortan Joe backstory movie. I know there’s some comics that cover it, but still…

No mention of being genocide enjoyers which I think is important

I quite enjoyed The Pentaverate, so I’d say he hasn’t completely lost it.

We won, Austin.

Content warning for Kid Starver Kier Starmer at the end.

Another one of these “HoW cOUld tHiS HAppEn?!” articles explaining a highly predictable result of our fucked up economic system, to make it seem as though this wasn’t predicted by literally anyone who critically looked at what was happening.
But being financially literate wouldn’t stop them from stealing your pension.
