Could almost be some Simon Stålenhag art. Funny, I just posted one of his a few minutes ago (non-dinosaur themed) at my community.

“Man rests from one labor by doing another.” That also works for managing chronic pain, as I’ve discovered…

better than keeping a foot on some fucking line
TBF, avoiding going over a certain line is hugely important across dozens of significant disciplines and areas. It’s literally critically and vitally important in many cases. As for “toe,” it’s probably an old-school usage of a verb which is preserved in that phrase, but not carried on otherwise. Making it sound weird, today.
“It’s like apples and oranges!”
I think I probably misunderstood that one from the start. Far as I know the real meaning is simply “similar, yet different.”
But in my head I was asking myself: "so they’re both fruit, both roundish, both commonly the same size, both sweet-tasting, both common lunch items, both hugely cultivated, both widely sold, both inexpensive, both pretty healthy & nutritious… etc, etc… so then, you’re trying to tell me that they’re vastly more similar than dissimilar?! What??

I happen to read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies in the form of graphic novels. About half a year ago I finally got to read Manu Larcenet’s adaptation, and the amazing art certainly lived up to its end. Unfortunately I didn’t find the story particularly interesting, and from what I understand, that might have been due to the GN omitting the interior thoughts of the characters. Sort of like the recent Watership Down adaptation, perhaps. Really good-looking, but missing a lot of the spirit of the original.
There’s also the fact that historically I’ve sort of been obsessed with post-apoc depictions in comics, so I’m a bit jaded in certain ways. So much so that I put together an article of 15 mini-reviews with rankings over at the evil empire. Guess which one topped the list?

Whoa, I thought that was Moss from The IT Crowd for a moment. oO

From that tiny anecdote, it kinda sounds like she didn’t know how to get herself up. Sounds stupid maybe, but from the moment she hit the water, she might have felt like she was fighting for her life.
Also, people panic in different ways, and being in water can be seriously upsetting for someone who’s never been, before.

It’s become somewhat grey, too. Someone might have spent hours skillfully putting something together in PS, to spending five minutes applying the right tools to an existing piece, or doing little more than clicking a couple times to apply a complex filter, completely transforming a piece.

Dude… mah dude…
I welcome you to believe in whatever magical fairyland you choose to subscribe to.
Good luck, and dog-bless.

LOL…
I will give you this, though-- you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about from literally any available perspective, but somehow feel the need to defend your silliness and dreadful lack of understanding, as if this internet shizzle really mattered?
Dude-- go home and take a BATH.
(you’ve earned it)

I guess the irony here is that I’m an infrequent coffee drinker due to having a stomach extra-sensitive to acid. I mainly drink very low-sugar tea, as a rule. Anyway…
Not totally sure what you’re on about in para #1, but I seem to recall you poo-pooing someone else’s idea of “Coffee Monster” as an alt to Cookie Monster, and me attempting to poo-poo your poo-pooing. (er, pardon… 'twas overcome by a Blackadder moment)
Anyway, if you’re still in doubt, here’s a good index to a bunch of modern studies:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_effects_of_coffee
And meanwhile you have cookies… as in refined sugar, a health-disaster from almost every angle, and then refined flour, like white rice, stripped of its nutritious, fibrous hull to leave little more than starch and a bit of protein. An empty-calorie glycemic rush if ever you wanted one. Great in quantity if you’re interested in things like diabetes, CV-disease and cancer.
You can 100% find healthy cookie recipes
Maybe “healthy” in terms of mindset, but in actual practice? Almost always a highly-refined food with little health benefit. At least in terms of the sweet-ish cookies that one typically longs for when they imagine the concept of “a cookie.” So yeah, sure you could make a ‘cookie’ out of compressed, unrefined plant matter and quality-protein material that would taste not unlike fish food, but that’s not really the point now, is it?
And you talk about “pilling,” hehe.
Mate, I’m sorry for my rudeness here, but I’m pretty-well over the typical Western diet and the ridiculous amounts of normalising we do upon ‘decent food’ which in fact is little more than junk food in terms of known science, facts & reality.
/end rant

Did you know that Sidney (yes, that’s his actual name) was originally the “Wheel Monster?”

Total agreement until…
I don’t think glorifying coffee is better by any metric.
Coffee is better by virtually every metric I know of. It’s essentially a health drink containing all kinds of useful plant compounds, compared to cookies which are literal junk food by their processed sugar, processed flour, and whatever else.
Of course, adding a bunch of refined sugar and heavy creme to coffee isn’t helping from that POV.

The thin-skinned blue line?
I’m bookmarking this so that I remember to share it when people ask for more.
Thanks! I was actually working on putting together a second collection until I saw you regularly posting these, and kinda took my foot off the gas. Figured it wasn’t so needed. Guess we’ll see.
Ah, nice going, then! And thanks, I’ll take a look…
(I previously posted a collection here)
Oh, and as for the resurgence:

I’m just kinda curious where you heard that kangaroos are especially dumb? (they’re not)
Some science sources, FWIW:

Now a whole people have to suffer and die in a nightmare, for a dream of a single man.
Now that was a very weird thing for me to read.
While I agree that current Zionism has gone way too far, the whole reason that there was a movement and need to restart an Israeli state is because so many around the world for so long scapegoated Jews over nothing much but bullshit and propaganda. Rubbish like P.E.Z. would be a prime example.
So you can thank most of the needless woes on all different sides due to chronic antisemitism, essentially.

It seems that kangas and wallabies are indeed occasional meat eaters:

Kangaroos have tiny brains
That sounds like complete nonsense to me.
In fact, mammals are generally big-brained animals compared to the average.
What’s your source on these, btw?
I know there’s a Twitter feed actively churning these out, but I think yours might be better quality, plus have some color.
Hah, wow… yeah, I knew about the Ellison source, but somehow missed the Don Johnson movie. Groovy, man, thanks for sharing.
As a digital reader these days, I believe I have the complete Den cycle across all its various sources, plus Murky World and a bunch of other Corben works. Good to hear Dark Horse is republishing it for print-readers, though. I do like to call him the ‘Moebius from across the pond.’
And good to see young Elvis Costello in his own movie, lol.
Btw, possibly you might like this movie I posted a couple months ago. It’s a post-apoc Western, made in New Zealand, only only 15min in length. I love how much is imagined a little differently due to it being NZ-made.
