  • I’m Canuck.

    I don’t hate USians…

( ALL people who are citizens of the Americas, South, Central, OR North, are Americas citizens, aka Americans. )

I hate both the national-narcissism which eventually blossoms inyo totalitarianism/cults, including the MAGA-cult,

& the abomination-methods of the MAGA-cult, the zionism-cult, the christofascism-cult, the islamism-cult, the manosphere-cult, the confucian-supremacism-cult, the various ideological-cults, the Physicalist-Matetialist-Existentialist Scientism cult which disallows all evidence falsifying it ( as Rupert Sheldrake has pointed-out there are multiple experiments which falsify that ideology/religion, but the evidence is simply ignored/denied, axiomatically ), etc.

Bernie Sanders, AOC, Mamdani ( & his Mom the documentary-director who made him become who he is, from what i’ve read ), & Snowden,

… ALL deserve The Order of Canada ( or whatever our highest-honour is ), for their loyal & upright representing of grass-roots people of their-own country!

That work of theirs makes our world better,

& Canada, being in our world, benefits from all such upright good work, everywhere.

    Beauty, eh?

    Salut, Namaste, & Kaizen.

    🙏

  • Enforce a Market-Basket-Measure based minimum-wage:

    live in an expensive city?

Yes, there’s much more innovation-per-capita there ( because more complex interactions are happening, more people sparking other-people ), but the costs are higher there, too, so therefore the minimum-wage has to be higher, the bigger the city.

You also get the rural-living-tax, though, as you’re much more motor-vehicle-dependent, rurally…

Fix the wages law, so parenting can be unbroken, & that would have significant cascading-effects.

Enforce proper education’s availability, so that critical-reasoning becomes normal for 80+ percent of the population, ASAP.

That would undo much of the idiocracy-cult’s traction, & get rationality beck into the world.

Prevent DarkTetrad/DarkTriad people from being electABLE, or having authority in public-service ( including police-services ), & that would make huge difference.

Criminalize bribery, including lobbying, & force all issues to be decided through rational issue-diagrams, not through “politicking”, & that would clean-up our countries, significantly.

    etc.

Combined-Arms: hit all the dimensions, simultaneously, & force the enemy-of-our-viability to yield, no matter what.

Otherwise, The Great Filter’s going to be our world’s epitaph, in about 60y.

    Mere-ideas, but…

    1. there seem to be one hell of alot of the things, so therefore some must have captured rogue-planets, after they calmed-down…

    2. that would mean that the atmosphere-stripping might not be universal for all planets orbiting them, only for the planets that orbited them when they were young red-dwarfs…

Being tidally-locked may mean that not having any Van Allen belts may be irrelevant: the radiation they’re being bombarded by is coming from their sun, & life could evolve on the opposite side, having warmth, & maybe photosynthesis at the daylight-horizon?

    1. Swift caught a red-dwarf emitting a flare 10k times more powreful than any we know about having been ejected by our Sun … but we’re looking at zillions of stars with our satellites, whereas we’ve only got a few decades of satellites watching our sun: there’s a measurement-disparity there, that is significant.

    2. universe has surprised ALL of our assumptions about it, through the millenia… & the ONE rule on Earth for where life is, is: IF life CAN exist in some niche, THEN it does. Period.

Stratospheric bacteria with error-correcting-code DNA ( 4 compartments, each with about 1/3rd of the DNA, so it corrects radiation-induced-damage before dividing into daughter-cells, sorry I can’t remember where I read that, it was a couple decades ago ), bacteria eating bedrock, down where it’s too hot for anything else to live, etc…

To presume, as we normally do, that universe’s rules for life are different on Earth than everywhere-else, is … neither evidence-based nor correct-reasoning-based.

Therefore, betting that no red-dwarf-orbiting planet has any life on it … isn’t a bet I’d do.

That most such might be lifeless, I’ve no problem with that.

But any time we assert that “there’s no life” in an entire-category of universe’s places … that’s just prejudice, from what I can see.

There is some, indirect evidence that microbes used to live on Mars ( chemistry that has no other obvious explanation, e.g. )…

& that would indicate that life’s actually a normal-default, but that we evolved too-late to encounter Mars’s life…

Oh, & the flaring thing: being closer to a star makes flaring much more dangerous than it is to us: the energy-density at double the distance ( of the flare, between its sun & its planet ) would be 1/4, right? ( distance-squared ),

so closer would be massively more likely to be clobbered…

but … universe consistently surprises our assumptions, so I’m still holding-to the suspend-judgement, only speak for the majority, not for all, position.

  • Thick borosilicate-glass ( no plastic-chemicals getting into my water, thermal-shock-proof, thick-enough to not be too fragile ),

    wide-mouth for easy-cleaning,

fits on bike bottle-holder ( plastic one, not metal, to protect the bottle ),

much taller than the short bike-bottles,

cover to keep grime off the drinking-from lid,

    silicone or something seal(s),

able to drink quickly from it at stop-lights.

Probably acrylic for the lid-material, since it seems to be reasonably-robust & not too putting-weird-chemicals into my water.

( all this is because bike-bottles made of low-density poly-ethylene are absolutely vile with the chemicals they put into water, & poly-carbonate also has some chemical-seepage issues )

    Actually, I’d want a package-deal: larger-diameter bottle-holder & bottle-to-fit: I want water, not svelte-traditional-bottle-diameter…

So, I was partly solving-the-wrong-problem at the beginning…

That’s how learning happens, though: ad-hoc…

  • AND THERE ARE ENTIRE PROGRAMMING-LANGUAGES WHICH HAVE HARDCODED GITHUB AS THEIR ROOT SOURCE!!

    rotflmao…

Exactly the same as Canada presuming that the US was somehow “inherently” on our side, forever

Non-autonomy bites one in the ass!

    It isn’t IF, it’s WHEN.

    Nobody’ll learn in-time, then, it looks like…

( both Haskell & Julia seem to have hardcoded it into many packages, or into the language+libraries themselves, to great extent…

Try setting-up a project in either language, with no github-username…

they deemed that to be universally a problem…

    codependency isn’t synergy: it is suckerpunching-in-the-making. )

  • Read Douglas Hofstadter’s book “Godel Escher Bach” & be stunned at what high-intelligence can do…

Him discussing anything with me would be like me trying to have intelligent-discussion with a waterlogged & frozen tree-stump.

after understanding that finally I understood why they like MENSA, to find others to discuss-at-their-level-with.

( after my 2nd brain-injury, I was measured to qualify for them, but after my 3rd brain-injury, I can’t imagine being quick-enough to qualify for them, & don’t like exclusive-clubs anyways, as they nearly-always turn into class-based-validity clubs.

Brain-injury’s taught me things that high-IQ wouldn’t have, though, so that’s cool. )

  • I asked gemini to find it…

Apparently it was in 2 simultaneous interview-publications, by different sites…

don’t know why I’ve got memory of it being video, instead of text, but here’s the answer I got:

While Gabe Newell definitely made those blunt remarks, you are actually remembering a text-based print interview rather than a video clip.

In late February 2022, during the media press tour for the launch of the Steam Deck, Gabe Newell did a series of one-on-one interviews where he addressed Valve’s ban on NFTs and why they stopped accepting Bitcoin back in 2017.

The specific quote you are thinking of comes from two parallel interviews published on the same day:

    1. The Interview with PC Gamer

When discussing the nightmare of accepting Bitcoin on Steam, Newell focused heavily on the sheer volume of bad actors:

“The problem is that a lot of the actors who are in that space are not people you want interacting with your customers. We had problems when we started accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment option. 50 per cent of those transactions were fraudulent, which is a mind-boggling number. These were customers we didn’t want to have.”

    2. The Interview with Rock Paper Shotgun

In a companion interview published simultaneously, he used almost the exact phrasing from your memory when talking about the NFT and blockchain crowd:

“The people in the space, though, tend to be involved in a lot of criminal activity and a lot of sketchy behaviours… With the actors that are currently in this NFT space, they’re just not people you really are wanting to be doing business with.

    Why is there no video?

Because these outlets sat down with Gabe in private press rooms to gather quotes for written feature articles, no official video or audio of these specific exchanges was broadcast.

If you remember seeing or hearing it, you likely watched a video from a gaming news channel (like YongYea, Inside Gaming, or IGN) or a TikTok/YouTube Short where a narrator read Gabe’s text quotes out loud over gameplay footage or B-roll of Newell.

He didn’t hold back, but he did it via the power of the written word!

So, now you’ve got both explicit-quotes, AND 2 independent sources-for-that-interview.

    I hope that’s good-enough.

I’m not digging into it any more.

  • Sorry I didn’t look at my over-800 notifications ( as of last week ) until now…

I’m betting that you’re now understanding better, how what I was saying is possible?

    • Dems can’t get Trump impeached, because old-guard Dems veto-vote it, in solidarity with the Republicans
    • Nobody can get Trump removed by psychiatric-assessment
    • ONLY Trump’s cabinet can invoke 25th-amendment, & if they do, Trump’s got the right to reverse it for 48h, & simply fire all who’d turned against him, then…

    etc.

NOTHING is going to unroot Trump,

& when threatening-accountability ( the midterm elections ) loom, then … he’ll convert the US to dictatorsip, totalitarian-style.

    His stress-level will drop…

    ours will increase.

It’s a done-deal, based on the “effectiveness” of the DNC party ( which is actually multiple contradictory parties, all wearing a single-“trenchcoat”, pretending to be a single party )

Popularity, ratings, approval, all that’s irrelevant, now.

It’s too-late for social-pressure to save the US.

    Prep.

  • The timeline is thus, geopolitical-1st, then climate, after:

late-2026, Trump goes full-dictatorship to prevent loss-of-power, accountability, etc.

You know how he’s pushing coal, & paying billions to prevent renewable-energy?

    Multiply that by 1000x

Regional Consolidation Time, 2026-2033, Trump rampages the Americas, “Russia” ( China supplanting Russia in gov’t & industry, but Russian oligarchs get to pretend, so long as they grind-down Europe ), China on Asia ( because the West abandoned Asia ), & MBS, post-Netanyahu, consolidates the entire Middle-East & Africa.

“US” & “Russia” implode in 2033.

WAR, 2033 to +4-decades or so, the Chinese Empire doing all it can to break & destroy the competitor, the remnant-of-the-West.

IF that is survived, THEN … I expect total-marine-food-web-colapse.

    Ecologically & climate…

Global-warming accelerating still, until sometime in the … WAR years.

Much of California, Texas, Saudi Arabia, India, northern Africa, become uninhabitable some time after 2030.

It will help snuff India’s fight against China.

The increased savagery of the cyclonic-storms will make some coasts become wreckage.

The increased flooding & sea-level-rise will trash some of the North Atlantic.

AMOC shutting off will wreck Europe’s we-can-grow-food-here regions.

That will help “Russia” in grinding-down Europe.

    etc.

Amusingly, there is also the geomagnetic-pole-flip that has begun…

Oh, what happens when it happens?

Well, our Van Allen belts, which protect satellites from raw-solar-wind, … disappear.

AND it renders compasses useless, simultaneously…

Oh, well that means that navigation’s … fucked … right?

    Yep.

    Perhaps you’re seeing a trend happening here…

    Perfect Storm.

Perfect meshing of all the different dimension of this coming karma, so it has maximal effect.

    That’s what we’re in-for.

  • Hoomin, do the experiment & use a good probiotic when you next get diarhea, take it with something mild, for them to eat.

    It works in about 2h.

Evidence is worth more than industry-concerted-opinion, in evidence based medicine.

& keep deeming me to be machiavellian disinformation, all you want.

“Why would there be hundreds of FMT clinical trials around the world for curing chronic diseases if it were so easy with probiotics? Why would 60%+ of Americans have a chronic disease if you could simply cure them with probiotics?”

    Because it’s profitable to not-treat-the-problem, & keep selling symptomatic-“treatment”.

Read “Money Driven Medicine” or “Doctored” which both seem to be on this fundamental-concept, if you want…

Doctored is written by a physician, who left the city, to escape the sociopathy of medicine as practiced there.

I don’t expect you to have the intellectual-integrity to do the experiment given what you wrote.

    & that is fine.

Let the world be ruled by concerted-assertion, NOT by independently-verifiable-evidence-through-experiment.

Downvote me, though, because I’m contradicting your truth, & you want to make your world better, OK?
