Fediverse@lemmy.world•What is the point of posting on the fediverse if it is going to be moderated similarly to Reddit?English
51·13 hours agoThat’s why a swath of us left Reddit in the first place, isn’t it?
No. I don’t think many people left Reddit for a desire to post in a ‘free speech absolutist’ instance.
I can think of many other reasons why many people left Reddit. One of which is that it isn’t moderated efficiently enough.
I think the Fediverse has largely lost the script and the plot entirely. If you want a more better experience on the Fediverse, stop installing crybaby over-sensitive mods.
You know the Fediverse is comprised of different instances that exercise different levels of control over local community moderators, right?

2·22 hours agoI am confused as to what you are getting at here. Piefed crossposts display post content from different communities separately within a link post that is crossposted.

1·22 hours agoCrossposting visibility is a pretty normal tool that should be on by default. It helps communities grow.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are yall okay with this sub turning into some AI led corporate icebreaker?English
19·24 hours agoIt won’t work. The user is talking about accounts that are masquerading as actual users, so they would not be identifying themselves as such.

131·24 hours agoIt’s not as if anyone is /allowing/ these bot posts by the way. They are being banned when they’re spotted.
I have no idea why they allow bots. Usually websites are trying to get rid of bots, but I guess it’s backwards on Reddit and lemmy
The etiquette on Lemmy/Piefed is that bots are tagged as bots. I doubt anyone would allow a bot larping as a user.

Julie meditated into the parallel world at the end of S03 and into S04. And that character randomly died because the actor left the show unfortunately.

2·6 days agoI thought the video was about “watercooler” TV. The stuff people watched in en masse and then discussed the next day at the office/school/whatever.
Kind of. Yes, but it’s more droning than that. The guy goes on and on about the history of successful tv shows on network TV from the late 1970s to idk when he stops, I stopped listening. Maybe late 2000s probably.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•The problem of cross-community postingEnglish
51·6 days agoPiefed splits up the comment boxes based on community when a thread is crossposted, so you can still distinguish between the comment boxes on different communities despite them being visible.
That said, a potential future option here would be a community opt-out of crosspost functionality in this way

I don’t think a single Reddit ‘power user’ moved to the Fediverse.
