If you get a big pile of money you have to pay taxes on it immediately and then you only get interest on what is left over afterward. If get a big pile of gold you don’t pay taxes until you sell it, and in the meantime you benefit from any increase in value since then.

Another critical difference:

If you got a million dollars in cash you were obliged to pay taxes upon receipt, and if you did not do so and you try to deposit it, you are going to get flagged for a tax audit and subject to criminal charges.

If you got a million dollars in GOLD you don’t pay taxes until you sell it. So you can sit on it for years and then sell it and deposit it and you only pay taxes at that moment and have not broken the law in doing so.

Money is income, Gold is just gold until you turn it into money.

A lot of times there is footage to pull out that got cropped out of the original broadcast, BUT the original shot was made with the crop in mind and there was a decision made about how to crop that particular scene. Just tossing in the full frame without any thought about the result can really change the feel of a scene.

It also can be pretty hard to find music you will actually like. Every streaming and sales service is more interested in promoting content based on who paid them off or based on what is cheap for them to stream. It seems like there are not a lot of resources geared specifically with connecting you to music that you are likely to enjoy.

I usually troll through new albums each month and just listen to a bunch of stuff until I find something I like.

Certainly, of course all the old stuff is good because that is the stuff that you already curated into your personal preferences. There was a LOT of shit from pretty much any era, its just that the younger version of you already pawed through all that shit. Listening to new music means having to paw through a lot of crap, which is always harder than just listening to stuff you already like.
