Why are people leaving the doors open in the first place that’s just wild. The super excited to get to work or something I don’t get it.
Wouldn’t the simplest solution be to just ban people who leave the doors open, it’s not that hard to close them.

Well that was obvious from the start. By all means arrest people who commit crimes but calling those crimes terrorism was insanely stupid.
It wasn’t even done any particularly sinister reason, it was just them being dumb. Terrorism charges obviously carries longer prison sentences, but that in no way benefited the government, so there was no reason for them to do that. They just came off looking bad at a time when they really needed their public image to improve. I’ve said this before but it bears repeating because every time a story like this comes out it makes labour look like the US republicans but they’re not. They’re just really really really really stupid.
Starmer used to be a human rights lawyer, so I don’t understand how he’s so bad at his job.

he forgot to say that he keeps all his upper floor windows locked. You’ve got to cover all your bases.

Personally are you like the idea of having security cameras on my house because they increase security in the same way that a prominent burglar alarm deters theft.
I can even see why these things been internet connected is appealing, it means the cameras can be accessed remotely when you’re out and about and people can’t just break in and then take the recording device.
Didn’t everyone start off with a year in that movie?
That was the most unrealistic part, they’d absolutely make you pay upfront or you would just die instantly the moment you hit 21 or whatever the age limit was.

My god it’s useless. It’s the most limited markdown editor in the world. It lacks so much basic function that you would have to download an actual markdown editor if you were ever going to use it, so there’s no point in notepad having the functionality, and then at the end of the day it’s in a file format that basically doesn’t exist outside of the web.
Microsoft Word cannot open it. So a Microsoft text editor program, can create a file that a different Microsoft text editor program can’t read, despite markdown being a supposedly universal standard. Wow.
I literally took out a mortgage to buy my house. That’s financing.
If I lose my job and I’m not able to find another one then the bank will repossess my house, but that doesn’t make my purchase of my house a financially irresponsible decision. The repayments on my mortgage are considerably less than the rent that I used to pay, so I am much better off now than I was previously. Anyway I would have lost my rental had I stopped paying as well, so nothing’s really changed.
When I first started I used to work at an absolute dumpster fire of a place, and even that only had one right wing guy and he was a conspiracy theorist who thought that the COVID vaccine contained nanobots. The guy who is supposedly an IT professional thinks we have nanobots.
He didn’t last very long. Not because he was a conspiracy theorist, although for my part I would have been perfectly fine if that had been the reason, but because he was actually kind of useless at his job. It turns out that if you think we have a microscopic robotic technology then you’re probably not as well versed in the industry as you are pretending to be.
I wouldn’t use cute names anyway because I’d forget what they actually were. It’s way better to use descriptive names so that you actually look like you know what you’re talking about. Generally speaking you don’t see cute names as much as you just see bad names.
In the past I’ve read code that says things like prefDoUserAccountProccessing_b(e) only to find out that it’s some old bit of code that isn’t used anymore because it’s for an old legacy SAP system. That’s apparently what the _b indicated, because obviously.
I’m on Twitter because a long time ago it was a good place to get contacts and industry updates. The only reason I’m still on Twitter is because I haven’t used it in about 6 years have forgotten the password and can’t log in to delete the account.
But anyway being in cybersecurity isn’t about being invisible, if you were invisible you wouldn’t be in the industry, you’d just be a hermit living in the woods. It’s about being aware of security threats and taking precautive action for yourself and your employer. Me posting videos of my rat completing puzzles, doesn’t compromise either of these requirements.

These days it’s very easy to be a leftist terrorist you hardly have to do anything. All I have to do is say that mass murder is bad and I’m now apparently a terrorist.
I’m yet to notice an influx of women trying to sleep with me. I’ll update you if this changes

What you mean there clear and comprehensive announcement? Yeah that didn’t happen, this is on them.
They still haven’t really provided any information. They say most users won’t have to verify, how many is “most”.

Nope I don’t trust them to use a US-based service. Also I don’t think they’re even allowed to as under EU law as all data held on users must be held on EU servers, so that solution wouldn’t be a one size fits all.

Does Discord even have an community relations department, because they suck. Seriously what a stupid decision to just announce age verification and then provide no additional details or context.
This clarification pathetic attempt at backpedalling, isn’t much better either, they’ve still provided essentially no information on exactly what the process is going to be, and exactly how it is going to work. I also do not like the fact that they’re basically just giving up on any attempts to implement this themselves, and are going with third party solutions. We all know that “third party solutions” means the lowest bidder, so this will be implemented poorly with no operational security, and absolutely will result in a data breach.
I created my account at least 15 years ago so if they require age verification from me they’re idiots.

But Notepad doesn’t, so it shouldn’t render .md files, it should just show the markdown code.
They keep adding stuff to notepad that no one was asking for. Like tabs and saving on exit, which breaks the workflow of having notepad be a throwaway scratch pad.
Atoms move in a solid, they just vibrate, in a liquid and glass they fly around. Somewhat bonded to each other in a liquid. But the speed is the same for any given temperature.
In vacuum I think a thermometer will just go to absolute zero/boil off.
Temperature is the average speed of atoms, in space, what atoms?
Space isn’t cold. It just isn’t any temperature

You mean you don’t care.

Poison probably not, but there a lot they could do tonthe food.
I’ve seen cars with self-closing doors though. Also I’m not sure where the safety consideration would come in since we have self closing building doors right now and no one seems to get cut in half by those.
