“I have two Microsoft Outlooks and neither one is working”

I use Thunderbird for my stuff. I like it for personal email. Its good enough.

Took 330 ms to load for me. Maybe your internet connection is a bit slow? Its also getting hit by multiple big sites at the same time.

The examples are pretty funny. Is VERY slow. Like I thought old outlook was a bit on the slow side for syncing. The videos they provide are remarkably slow in every day interactions.

Maybe puppy linux? Its very light on resources.
Kinda reminds me of creaper world.

Same, i enjoy it here!

My old company stopped putting money into our 401ks. I told a couple of co-workers that was REALLY strange and that it could lead to a lawsuit. I asked management about it and they said to “trust the process”. The business failed about a month later and never saw the money. I worked for the IRS at one point and knew its VERY illegal to take money out of 401k and not put it in the designated accounts.
They got sued by a class action after the initial bankruptcy and we, the workers, won. We got about 1/3 of the total money. Still sucked…but I was right!
And people went to jail. They didn’t want to give us access to the 401k for little more than a year after the bankruptcy which scared a LOT of people because they rolled over their accounts.

Honestly the founders got off easy. Theres a ton the IRS can do…and the lawsuit did use three letter federal resources to prosecute.

This style of posting lends itself to having “hot takes” get upvoted and actual discussions have middling success.
At least with us, you can chose the tech and put it up yourself. Like right now you are using slrpnk.net and im using piefed.social on a lemmy.world server. Without any issues. We (the collective WE) made this happen without huge billionaires having a strangle hold on the way we interact. Its not perfect, but its better than a LOT of the alternatives.
Fantastic series, thanks for introducing me!

Its kinda crazy, I have an old laptop made in 2019 So 7-ish years old. I bought a Steam Game made in 2026. It can run the game with very little issues.
Family has an old desktop made in around 2014-ish. I got it an SSD, 1070 and it still runs like a dream with PopOS/Steam. Its the family youtube/gaming PC and still runs anything that isn’t triple A expensive games.
The screenshot really should have a cat photo on it.
Looks great! GL!

Cant know until we try!

I wish meshtastic did any of that. Its more like a worse pager. Fun hobby to get into but its not all that great at reliable packets.

I have some friends that are thinking of investing into some HiLow systems and making our own intranet. Or a meshnet. Seems like a fun project.
And no random bot scans, no agencies, no nothing but our own sites.

Plus almost everyone developing the platforms we are using is doing it for negative money. Like a LOT of negative money. And its not really all that many people. We think they are huge teams but a literal handful are keeping a lot of the fedi up and running.
They are doing it out of a passion.
…or hate for other platforms? Hate can be a great motivator.

You can get some of those interop in Mbin and piefed. Lemmy just takes a while to develop. You can already see Mastodon threads in Mbin. But I see your point, the overall protocol implementation is ALL over the place. Its very hard to keep up with what supports what.
It is evolving when you get on the beading edge. Its usually the even smaller stuff like snac2/piefed/mbin/gotosocial etc… its all over the place.
Honestly what I want is the ability for mastodon to act like an RSS feed instead of one big wall. Have each individual as a separate feed. Because my current gotosocial/mastodon is flooded with people that post 30+ times a day somehow drowning out people that post 1/2 times a blue moon. Im working on something that may do the job in the future, but the code is VERY raw so it may never see release.

I wonder if someone is trying out an AI or something and seeing the results. Then deleting. More evidence will pop up eventually.
Looks like it uses wifi and bluetooth. So anything just “ON”.
You know its not all that hard to reproduce if someone wants to. Except when we do it, its against the law.
