I’m lookin forward to this. The background work and animation this season looks like it got a budget boost. Plus the story has gone beyond the standard arcs and is actually exploring “what happens to the nihilistic hero after he defeats the villain, realizes he’ll never get his wife back, and settles into finding meaning again?” So few shows explore this or even get the chance to explore this. So awesome.

I honestly did enjoy the latest episode even though I am a little critical of the direction they decided to take Evil Morty this episode. The mystique I got after the various Citadel of Ricks episodes is finally gone, and I was honestly satisfied with Evil Morty fucking off to never be seen again in his last arc.

Don’t get me wrong, the latest episode’s plot was cohesive, the character arcs were logical and understandable, the animation went hard, and all around 5 stars.

I just loved Evil Morty as one of the main villains, and even though I’m sure this won’t be the last we see of him, I’m just a little sad that I probably won’t ever feel the same excitement from seeing him return as now the veil of mystery is gone.
