The civil rights group alleges that the project’s pollution could be harmful to nearby residents.

NAACP, calling for something and then never following up on it. Gotta stay relevant to get that cash.

This is the weirdest Russian bot take I’ve read on Lemmy all this week.

It ain’t the NAACP of the 60’s that’s my take on it. What’s your favorite recent NAACP legal action or organizational accomplishment?

Clearly you don’t know much about non-profits in 2025

Non profits aren’t getting much grant money these days

            They get money from people.

They do but it’s not where they get the majority of it from. All non profits have a team whose job is to bring in government grant money. I worked at one for a year and that’s how it works.

You didn’t work for the NAACP

Large organizations like that get huge donations from rich people and corporations to lower their taxes. My small local non-profit I worked for helped vulnerable mothers and families. The grants they got from the government were usually larger than private donations in total.
