I think gun ownership and political ideology are a venn diagram and trying to generalize it is just dumb. It’s also very regional. I live in upstate NY, belong to a rod and gun club and politics do come up but very few people present them as identity.
I don’t think they understand a vocal minority.
MAGAs make firearms a part of their identity.
