Considering how the war in Ukraine is going, the only reason they are likely to have done that, if that is indeed what happened, is so they can try to gaslight Iran into doing nothing and then they will attack again and this time they will attack a lot more.
Could just be a bad source without complete info or someone trying to downplay what happen though. We might not know for sure for a few hours, days ot more…
