It never occurred to me that it’s named for him. We read the Ilyad when I was in the 8th grade. I wanted to reread it some years ago and compared translations of the opening between books at a store. I ended up buying Herodotus’s History instead.
what if they were all named odysseus
If only they had seen Spartacus so they too could come up with that idea
Posieden: “Which one of you is Odyseus?”
Crewman 1: “I am Odysseus!”
Crewman 2: “I am Odysseus!”
Crewman 3: “No! I am Odyseus!”
Maybe more people would have survived if Eurylochos didn’t screw up every ten seconds.
