Prime minister says Iran’s nuclear programme is a ‘grave threat to international security’

Keir Starmer has backed the US strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and called on Iran to return to negotiations, saying the country’s nuclear programme was a “grave threat to international security”.

Donald Trump announced overnight that the US had bombed three nuclear sites in Iran, joining Israel’s attack on the Tehran regime.

There was no UK involvement in the action. Starmer and the foreign secretary, David Lammy, had pushed for a diplomatic solution amid fears a wider action could further destabilise the region.

    June 12th:

“I am pleased to confirm the 6th round of Iran US talks will be held in Muscat this Sunday the 15th,” Bad Albusaidi, the country’s foreign minister said on social media.

Israel struck Iran later the same day.

So why should Iran have any reason to believe that “talks” will stop Israel and the US?

Also trump tore up the last agreement we had with them, so why would they ever believe he’d keep a new one?

To some extent I think the demands for “talks” are out of genuine fear of escalating the war. The UK is being dragged by the US which is being dragged by Israel who is the only one who actually wants this war. Its this weird centipede of colonies controlling their homelands.

The UK has no fucking business saying they’re being dragged into anything. This whole thing is their goddamn fault. All of this. Every single conflict in the Middle East for the last hundred years has been their fault. This is literally two of their biggest fuck ups fighting each other.

That sounds so horribly ‘both sides’ - appeasing both parties.

Iran have already stated “Nope, no diplomacy whilst you’re bombing us.”.

    So what now Keir?

Specifically Iran says: “We want diplomacy, but we cant negotiate while being bombed.”

Also note that Israel prides itself in having assassinated multiple negotiators that were engaged in “negotiations” with Israel or the US in 2024 and 2025 and the US has previously lured an Iranian negotiator into an assassination under the pretext of negotiations in 2020.

as trumps own director of national intelligence said Iran was not building any, its hard to see this as a “grave threat to national security”. Seems to be another regional power squablle initiated by Israel the day before they were going to have a vote on the government falling and Netenyahu therefore resuming his trial for corruption.
What a huge clown show. And starmer doesnt even merit clown status. He’s pathetic.

More murder and crimes against humanity. Always the same thing with the Israelis.

They’re not the ones that left the talks. They were scheduled for talks and then y’all bombed them. What the hell?

Go back to negotiating so we bomb your delegate and their family and their neighbors.

These cunts think we still lives in time when they can control the narrative.

wait until they force youth to do military service. It will happen very soon.

Iran has bent over backwards to cooperate with the Zionist managed hysteria over it’s (until now) non existent nuclear weapons program including installing live streamed videos for the IAEA to monitor centrifuges from Vienna and even sticking to the JCPOA for a year after Trump tore it up and even after the Israelis started murdering their scientists.

Enough is enough. Iran needs nukes or it will be regime changed with millions dead and millions more refugees streaming into Europe.

Regime change has been Netanyahu’s plan for 30 years.

Regime change isn’t the plan, its just the excuse. There aren’t any rebels to back in Iran. There isn’t an Iranian congress in exile. Best you’ve got is the heir to the Shah and some trostkyite cult.

Israel’s goal is to turn Iran into Libya. More genocidal destruction.

Just a lengthy text to collect some of my thoughts.

I can’t think of any reason but the bomb if one has 60%+ Uran in bigger quantities and rockets with the ability to carry 2 tonne warheads. They did some steps on that road, it seems to me.

And there is that regime’s head with that one idea of an almight being that you have to please. And his will to cling to power in Iran no matter what. Makes you think if that guy seeks redemption in the next world in which case, destroying Israel and getting annihilated in return is the logical course. Or if he seeks to keep his power in this world which would forbid that. Or first one thing and then the other - he’s not the yougest anymore.

The regime in Iran shouldn’t be in place. But what action to take is for their people to decide. It’s hard to near impossible for the people of Iran to overthrow that regime. But that doesn’t legitimate an attack. (It wouldnt free the people or would it? Who would fill the void if the regime is gone?)

If I imagine myself on the opposite side of the table on Iran’s side, there is not much reason to trust the US and I would seek for ways to arm myself.

Also having the option of building the bomb is a bargaining chip for them. Even if you wouldn’t intend to go through with it.

And then there is the statement of the US secret service that Iran is not even close to the bomb. (Like Irak didn’t have WMD but it was the US’ casus belli for the war. Iran supported the US back then btw., but it didn’t help their relations.)

And then there is the chain of actions and events in favor of Israel (Hisbollah weakened, Syria’s regime overthrown and their air force destroyed) which lead to the opportunity to attack the now weakened Iran. Having those Israeli agents inside Iran and the attack plans in place tells me, that is has been planned for months or years. Same goes for the Hisbollah pagers.

I’m not in favour of any war - It didn’t help Afghanistan or Irak much, it only stirs unrest but doesn’t help the people. So sanctions against Israel would be the way to go. I don’t think Iran will have the A-bomb armed and ready soon. And I want Iran to have democratic or at least secular gouvernment, which can’t be achieved from the outside, only. But I’m sitting at the side line and have not much at stake here.
