Your perspective must be warped by the extremely politicized internet. Most of these “young science and technology professionals” only care only about money. Maybe a small fraction also care about being around skilled people to keep their work interesting. No one care about the regime they are under. These people are rich enough to not suffer from it.
No one is rich enough to not suffer from authoritarian rule. Ask Jack Ma how that went. China also regularly seems to replace high level officials when Xi wants. There’s no meaningful court if an authoritarian government decides you’re guilty because they’re also the ones appointing the judges.
