“He did it. He threw the sandwich.”
That’s how the defense counsel for Sean Dunn, the man who threw a sub-style sandwich at a Border Patrol officer in Washington, DC, this summer began the federal trial against him Tuesday morning.
This is stupid because of the charge itself, but also because when the jury, pulled from a population which is literally 90% opposed to Trump, acquits this man, it’s going to be a big, very visible reminder for everyone paying attention, of the massive power juries have to oppose tyranny.
Jury nullification is the entire point of a jury.
I think expecting any such justice from the courts is a folly, they’ll find whatever jury of bootlickers they want to get the rulings they want. Rule of law is dead in the U.S.
‘It smelled of onions and mustard,’ Border Patrol officer hit by sandwich in DC testifies
Pobricito
I wonder if this is allowed in either c/theonion or c/nottheonion
I mean, it’s not the onion…but onions are in the headline.
c/notheonionwithonions
That’s a thinker.
Yes.
