really hoping this is fake&gay because if not then it’s really fucked up
It sounds real to me. I’ve known similar folks. Traumatized people can get really unpleasant and desperate.
My wife tells me constantly about her patients and this reads like a backstory for some of them no problem. So many people with so many fucked up lives…
Being only an underachiever feels like a blessing in comparison.
Great example of how people get into abusive relationships. Imagine if OOP was less able to stand up for themselves.
Also, the irony of going to the UK because your family kicked you out for being trans
fem.And why are people even downvoting this post so much? Do they just hate reading a story about a trans person who is an asshole?
I found a lot of people in this community seem to come here to essentially spit on others they want to look down upon, they can’t really do that here.
I think part of the downvotes are because there’s really not a lot of humor in this story, it’s just a sad story with no message or humour.
It definitely has a message IMO, it’s a story about how governments shitting all over asylum systems and minorities promotes abusive relationships and also trans people are human and thus can be assholes just like every other group.
But I guess I can see how it doesn’t deliver what most people expect from a greentext.Yeah, there’s enough content already on Lemmy that will make you miserable, notably the news.
I come to green texts to laugh at absurd takes from Anons.
Its not funny, just three horrible people who deserve each other.
What’s horrible about the OOP? Other than OOP being a 4chan poster, the post doesn’t really say anything that I’d describe as “horrible”.
They anticipate that the other person is likely to commit suicide, and not only decide not to intervene but game how it can be turned to their material gain.
I also don’t get the downvotes, like being trans doesn’t make you a good person or even progressive in any way…
And this is a really good story for a greentext IMO
FTM means Female to Male
I know, but I guess I didn’t read properly …
I honestly don’t get why you would prioritise a “top surgery” (whatever that is, sounds like something cosmetic) over a surgery to regain your mobility though?
Maybe his tits were so big that top surgery did improve his mobility! I knew a woman with a walking impairment (basically a permanent limp) once who was seriously thinking about a breast reduction for that reason - hers weren’t absurdly large, but large breasts just don’t mix well with permanently limping.
They are female to male so top surgery is breast removal, technically cosmetic but vital for mental health. Whether they were able to get a mobility surgery and chose not to I don’t know.
Yeah when it’s a question of mentally being able to do things or physically (especially when you don’t yet feel the immediate need to do physical things), it can be easy to prioritize the mental.
