Note that this does not apply to aluminum, which is (almost) infinitely recyclable and 70% of recycled aluminum cans return to shelves in 50 days.
However only 5% of plastics get recycled, meaning that most plastic waste (even if you put it in the recycling) goes to landfills.
Someone else can do the numbers on glass, but glass recycling is very energy intensive.
