I think there’s also a connection to produce size and nutritional density. Seems like plants don’t actually generate/take up more nutrients to produce larger fruits. Rather, the added weight is mostly water and, apparently, sugars/carbs. I know next to nothing of horticulture so huge grain of salt to everything I say but if CO2 plays a fundamental role in a plant’s storage of energy as sugars then yeah this all tracks.
