The debate over fossil fuel expansion here at home comes right as Christiana Figueres, a former UN climate negotiator and architect of the Paris Agreement, is visiting Australia.
She says the conflict in the Gulf should serve as the impetus for Australia to abandon fossil fuel reliance and move towards renewables.
