So that’s what they want to do after the war is over? Just in time for a war in Iran, ukranazi pmcs let loose on the country?

supporters argue such legislation could create jobs for Ukraine’s growing veteran population and allow the country to export battlefield expertise abroad.

    Cool, export the battle-tested Nazis

No way that could go wrong!

Like, most of these “”“veterans”“”" are going to be conscripts

They’re not going to want to become mercenaries

So unless their plan is to enslave these men further, they’re just going to be sending Azov types to do heinous shit

And knowing ukkkraine, they would definitely enslave these people

They don’t have a Ukrainian economy to return to. As soon as as the war ends all the foreign-owned companies are going vulture-mode and starving the economy Milei-style.

Unfortunately it’s also very likely that Ukraine’s economy can’t sustain these people when the war ends and they’ll be forced to use that knowledge to pay bills by going abroad. I doubt western countries will keep the money spigot running when they’re not killing Russians anymore.

Sure, but if they don’t have other opportunities, some proportion of them still will. Which doesn’t absolve them, of course, but even though it’s afaik pretty rare in the USA people do sign up for these things out of desperation.
