While I’m glad of the improvement, Steam is a business and this presumably reflects the reality of the games industry right now: indie games are cheaper and get better reviews than many AAA games. Steam wants to sell as many games as possible so it makes absolute sense to make games that people actually buy and like discoverable.
Specially since they get the same cut per dollar whether it’s a AAA game or indie. With how cost prohibitive many larger publisher titles are becoming, this is just smart.

I do usually mirror on archive.org/archive.is (whoever save the page first) when a website become annoying with unreasonable amount of popup (“please log”, “please install our app”, “please eat our spyware cookie”, “please pay subscription if you don’t want to sell your data”)… All this on net positive of ublock already blocking most crap.
Are there any alternatives that work well at bypassing generic paywalls?
If you check indie dev communities it’s massive, like 70% of total wishlists coming from the personal calendar.
