You could always have Graphene over WiFi as your main phone and then have a dumb phone you take in the car with you for emergencies. I had a cellphone running Graphene and it died and I just got a dumb phone and I went back to using my computer for everything else now. It’s mostly a better workflow for me. I think the main way it becomes problematic is most jobs require you to have a smart phone so they can do payroll and tracking you through apps. I really don’t want that and I have been fortunate enough that I have been getting enough work independently now that I can decide what I do and don’t need in that regard. If that is your situation, you could always keep the I-phone for shit like that and have a place to put it when you are done with work… So you can disengage with the phone once you are not working. Then get a Graphene phone for your leisure time. There doesn’t have to be set rules that you can only do one thing or the other.

No power is ever as absolute as people think. AmeriKKKa has been in a death spiral for a while now, but it will probably still tske a really long time to disintigrate. Not defending democrats at all, but didn’t Nate Silvers polling engine consistently favor democrats polls? I would say Democrats are loosing because they have created an echo-chamber (of which Nate is a part), in which alternatives are not allowed even if those alternatives are; we shouldn’t do a genocide in gaza or hey, actually the most accurate polls have consistently showed Harris losing. To be honest, this always happens. So what? Most people want their corporate social media. My parents will never stop using Facebook no matter how bad it gets. If you look in your access logs, or /var/log/nginx/access.log and look for user agents in the log file that indicate things like chatgptbot, etc. Then add if ($http_user_agent ~* "useragent1|useragent2|... useragents") { return 403; } to the server block of your websites config file in /etc/nginx/sites-enabled/. You can also add a robots.txt that forbids scraping. Chatgpt generally checks and respects that… for now. This paired with some of the stuff above should work.

Trump is going to trounce any Democrat they could run in 2024, because the one thing the Democrats don’t get is that the demographics have changed. Liberal boomers are not a viable course to victory and Black and Latino voters are much more conservative then they want to believe and are finding the modern democratic party just as racist as the modern republican party, so why not vote their religious values. The math is not good for a democratic base which makes a plurality of about 37% of likely voters. If the Democrats want to fill in that gap they need to do things to pull in more young voters, who don’t want genocide in Gaza. Denying it is happening is the most tone def way to appeal to a generation of voters who actually know what gaslighting is.

I love this idea. Will definitely look into installing on my desktop. I’m working on a searxng instance that filters out all the toxic sources that think they own the internet also. Its also very much a work in progress, but yeah, these putzes get too much attention on the internet and anything we can do for our own peace of mind to delete them from pur lives is absolutely worth doing. I put a lot of filters on mastodon to the same end and it has made my social media experience so much more enjoyable.
