I did a silly yesterday. I caved to peer pressure and voted blue no matter who. I was already regretting it hours after doing so.

Very hard. Then again, I’m a liberal who only larps as a communist online.

Xzibitionism

voting in the suburbs or in majority white/affluent places is invariably chill, in my experience.
I’m a white labor aristocrat nepo baby who lives in an affluent white suburb and vooted today. Can confirm it was chill.

Maybe I should go out and vote blue no matter who just so I can see how spectacularly they fuck it up this time /j

I’ve been playing Queen’s Domain. Once I got my head around how stamina works in it, I started to enjoy it a lot. The art style and soundtrack create an incredible vibe, and it has some really creative enemy design.

I don’t want to be this kind of animal anymore.

My tech lead was genuinely impressed with the flying tesla stunt from a few weeks ago.

The entire thing is a solution in search if a problem that only really exacerbates the weird dogmas software devs have put in place for years.
Whenever I try to voice this at work, it falls on deaf ears. Management has cultivated a vanguard of devs (“AI champions”, as they’re called) over the past 2 years to ensure the decision to pivot to Slop-Driven Development comes off as relatively bottom-up.

I know I’m not going to review what it generates properly, so it’s better for me to write it manually. I am willing to bet a vast majority of devs are the same way, whether they admit it or not.
My team’s proposed solution to this problem seems to be “just review it all anyway, 5head”.

I got a hunch this is me not understanding the industry, but I feel like LLMs only make sense in a world where productivity is measured based on code output.
It’s being pushed moreso to make more features than to make more lines of code. The latter implies the former, of course. The upper management types love going on about releasing features at tHe SpEeD oF aI.

But this brings up the real point: why is tech lead giving a shit about, “I think we need to lean on Al to speed up PRs”? Aside from that not actually being the usual outcome, it’s also not their job to care about it. They are acting like C suite or management or a suck-up. “Speed up PRs” isn’t a meaningful thing to anyone except the bean counters trying to create metrics of success to use to discipline labor and climb the ladder.
This mindset is rampant at my employer. Devs are well compensated enough with salary and benefits that they see their benefit as being strictly aligned with the company’s. Most of my coworkers seem to have gotten into software development as a way to make money, with little or no love of the craft. Those who do get into the process love the SDLC part of the craft much more than the coding part.

But what I have found immensely useful is sicing it on code I absolutely do not give a single fuck about.
That’s increasingly becoming all of my code at work lol. I used to care about quality in a “don’t shit where you eat” kind of way, but if C-suite wants slop, they’ll get slop.

Finally, the awesome lesbian couple can be safe.

Then they’ll defederate .world preemptively, as a last resort.
Dude smoked hella cigs, right? Teetotalitarianism is maybe preferable, but I’m sure he can understand having a vice or two.
I will lib out with or without a pass. Become ungovernable.
