IntriguedIceberg@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the odds that we are all in a simulation?31·16 days agoSo I guess it depends on what you understand by “simulation”. What is really simulated as opossed to being “real”. Our reality is just an interpretation given by our senses, so in a sense it’s also a simulation of the real thing. Where’s the line that makes something really “real”?
Shouldn’t you have received 12cts? In order to get 10cts back you ought to give 51.03€. Or am I just not mathing today?
IntriguedIceberg@lemmy.worldto memes@lemmy.world•Has to be 16 characters, #s, Cap and lower case.8·2 months agoFor everybody commenting on passwords manager, I’ve been using one for years now and I feel this so bad. My company has a password policy of changing the LAPTOP’s password every 8 weeks and you can’t reuse any of the last 10 passwords used. I hate it because I can’t use a password manager to unlock my laptop and I’m so used to password managers by now that it’s getting really hard to come up with new passwords that follow the stupid requirements and even worse remembering them. I’m veeeery close to just start noting them down in a notebook by my machine and then send a picture to our security guy to show him where he has gotten us all to

There’s a tacit acceptance of what a group of people decided that good is worth. Its value is as real as we collectively decide it is; it’s a construct

This is the type of meta-content I live for lol
It still equals 1, you can prove it without using fractions:
x = 0.999…
10x = 9.999…
10x = 9 + 0.999…
10x = 9 + x
9x = 9
x = 1
There’s even a Wikipedia page on the subject
Didn’t know about the third one. Thanks, I’ll check it out!
Came here to say the exact same thing: To the Moon is definitely a game for ugly crying. I even replayed it a couple of years ago, and even when I already KNEW what was going to happen, I still found myself crying for hours and being overemotional for a week. Great games with beautiful storytelling. I can feel myself tearing up just by thinking about it. Maybe it’s time for another replay haha

Nowadays zooms can be very powerful and I use it regularly to read faraway signs, see details on distant structures and to see far things in general. The anti-shake software usually is enough, but if whatever I’m trying to read or look at is VERY far, I zoom in, hold my breath to snap a quick picture and then examine it calmly. I’ve found it to be very convenient, specially when traveling
I explicitly went against OP’s wishes and deliberately asked meow.
