It was the reliance on the white male saviour trope that soured it for me. James Holden was such an annoying character for me. It had so much potential

It’s important because settlers have been denying the genocide from the beginning and still do to this day.

Yet you still took the time to post about it

Democrats are right wingers

My personal hate is the word “settler”, which invokes an image of somebody taking previously useless land and making it fit for human habitation, but apparently has been redefined within the borders of Palestine to mean “armed invader”.
That is revisionist history. Settler colonialism isn’t a thing that happened in the distant past, it is an ongoing process that is still going on to this day. What is currently happening in Palestine and Ukraine is an exactly what happened in the lands that you live on. You are a settler living on stolen indigenous lands, which were taken by brutal force no less inhumane and heinously than that being used by the IDF and the Russian state. Fuck off with that “previously useless land” bullshit.

“No, u”

Nuclear energy is backed by big business and a lot of money. It’s a big cash cow and there is a lot of money and effort spent to manufacture public support for it, and they use troll farms to push their agenda, no doubt. Am I the only one that finds it a little suspicious that it’s always the same few talking points whenever the topic is mentioned? Whenever there’s a discussion about investing in renewable energy, there are always nuke bros popping up, bombarding the thread, derailing the discussion.
Nuke bros are insufferable. There has been such an aggressive astroturfing campaign to prop up nuclear power, and it’s always the same tired (mostly outdated and inaccurate) talking points. It’s way too expensive, takes too long to build and renewables make way more sense. The main reason why nuclear power is being pushed so hard again is the unsustainable proliferation of data centres for AI, but no matter how much production you create, it will never be enough.
