I’ve seen some polls suggesting it is pretty unpopular. Lots of blue seats were won againdt major transphobes these last two years in some surprising places. I also think anecdotally having to hear anyone irl harp on about trans hate or LGBT hate is extremely off-putting for everyone. Most of my family is right wing and there is only 1 person in my whole extended family that will randomly bring up trans issues and everyone tells them to shut up lol. It’s just not a real concern for a lot of people.

The thing is too is this type of hate is way more prevalent online, we’ve been bombarded with it. But when the right has actual sieg heiling nazis showing up to rallies/protests against drag its an extremely bad look for even the less moderate right wingers.

I think it depends too on where you live. Some places are definitely just always going to hafe anyone not cis

In case anyone hasn’t read the Classification Board’s statement about it, you should see how absolutely pearl clenching and lame it is. I know people keep pointing to the drug and sex stuff in the game as part of the reason, but I genuinely believe a lot of the topics about capitalism/communism and liberal democracy played a role in their decision too after reading that statement. Specifically this part:

seems like a long winded way to just say they didn’t like its politics.

The Transformers movies are also just like that too. Like they walked a fine line having them be both extremely relevant and important while still having to rely on the transformers for cannon. Also the first transformers (the only one i watched) had so many shoehorned product placements I walked out of the theater. Any attempt I made at immersion was constantly ruined by how obvious and in your face they made them. It was just unwatchable for me lol
