But now it’s fine cause China is doing it. [hypothetically]” Maybe it’s my own biases from reading the accounts of the bombings, but I dont find them especially funny.

The issue for Israel is not what the government’s think but rather what the people think. If the people of France and such think Israel just kills brown people, then it’s not going to affect them. At the very least it’s not Frenchmen (or swedes or Germans or whatever) dying there.

But if Israel were to just start openly bombing a humanitarian flotilla and killing Europeans, then maybe a whole bunch of Europeans are going to get up in arms over that and demand their governments do something about it. Maybe they dont care about Palestine, but maybe theyd care if their own civilians were killed. Theres already a general strike in italy (done in solidarity with Palestine, so good on them), imagine one in France and such.

I’m surprised they’re even bombing the flotillas to begin with. I would think it would be easiest to do what they did last time and just grab them and send them back once they arrive. If I had to guess they might be doing this in order to get the flotilla to turn back voluntarily to paint them as cowards or something
