My old work ordered everything from uline, and I started bringing in my own TP specifically because of how awful it is to use that tissue paper.

Legitimately feels like tissue paper that people stuff gift bags with.

But at the same time, almost slippery.

And you WILL know if you creased the paper the wrong way, because it WILL stab at you with the force of ten thousand teeny tiny needles.

I didn’t get it right away, since I try not to buy anything in the first month it’s out so I get a good feel of the game. Also, you know… poor. But mostly the first thing.

But holy shit the videos of dragon fights… I had to fight an impulse buy.

Since then I’ve spent over $100 on various copies for various consoles and my computer, all on sale. It may not seem like much, but when 95% of my library was purchased during sales and events… That’s a lot.

It’s not perfect, but there are so many mods for it, you can tailor it to whatever you want. Personally, I like a bit of survival mechanics like food/water and temperatures/wetness. I also like the older oblivion style of magic combat.

Bethesda may not have made the greatest video game of all time, but at this point it might as well be the best fantasy RPG-lite sandbox I’ve played. The only thing that could make it better is a settlement system like fallout. I like to build.

I’ve seen almost that exact sight so many times…

For a second I thought it was 2012 again and I was curled up under my blanket with some hot chocolate to play skyrim and watch some cartoons.

And I was in my 20s.

My in-laws are bitching about the heat and how it’s driving their electric bill up to keep their massive extremely-windowed house cool.

My in-laws also refuse to plant trees in their massive, empty, flat, baby-shit-green lawn because it “ruins the view”… Of the road. And their neighbors house. And the tips of the trees behind the neighbors house.

They also refuse to get new windows, because their 30 year old windows aren’t broken. they don’t need curtains because they got tired of changing them every season and holiday with themed festive or otherwise-coordinated-with-mood colors… And of course awnings would just make the whole house look ugly, because a large beige rectangle would just look so much worse with awnings…

I get not wanting to spend thousands on new installations, up-front costs are a bitch.

But planting trees is so cheap…

I’m sure a therapist wouldn’t read into that, or that my first thought was “I’m sure a therapist…”

There ARE people who don’t really talk, but the gathering isn’t complete without them. They add to it in plenty of other ways.

The Difference

Edit: I’m still not sure it’s actually a real photo though, it doesn’t sit right with me.

I think a more accurate conclusion then, would be “the average American is too poor to afford good food”

“objectivity” is bullshit and will end up getting hundreds of millions of people killed.

I love seeing prison photos from other countries that show how well prisoners can be treated while still being in prison. Countries with extremely low recidivism.

And there are plenty of people I know who would see that and balk, because “that’s being too soft”

I’ve had people insist that stronger punishment over rehabilitation is what you need, and ignore my bringing up that there’s decades and decades of data that shows otherwise.

At best, the harsh punishments serve as a deterrent to other people doing similar things that might result in similar punishment, but that just creates new and sneaker crimes and criminals. It’s better to rehabilitate, help people turn their poor choices around, and eliminate the cause of the problems that led to the crime in the first place.

But that’s “too much work” so might as well not even try, right? As we all know, the light bulb famously was invented on the first couple tries.

When someone tells me I’m being ridiculous for having fun doing [insert thing]

Most recently it was because I was having fun messing with my RC stuff.

Like bitch just because your rc dreams died with that 1:32 scale bulldozer your older brother smashed in a jealous tantrum, doesn’t mean I can’t have fun designing my own 2ft long RC tank. Yes, I DO have fun driving a little box in circles making dirt fly around.

8 times out of 10 if the person complaining actually tries the thing with you, they also have fun.

I’d rather he rots in a state jail for the rest of his life, and give him the same standard of care as every other inmate. No special treatment. If he needs to be put in solitary “for his own protection” then so be it. It’s the system people like him loves to protect.

To be clear, I think the US treatment of prisoners is inhumane and bordering on criminal (and all too often crossing said border) and the whole penal system needs drastic change and made entirely nonprofit, and the constitution needs another Ammendment because the 13th was a mistake.

But that’s not the world we live in, and the people who crafted this world should be forced to live in it.

Anecdote time!

I was once semi-surrounded by coyotes while hiking in some back country with a friend.

I did not have anything except my camping knives and a very small axe for splitting kindling.

My buddy had a compact 9mm in his waistband.

Honestly, I can say an AR would not have made me feel safer. A larger capacity on my sidearm, on the other hand, would. The AR is just too bulky to move quickly in close quarters.

Luckily a single round to the trailside was enough to scare them off, since yelling and throwing things wasn’t. We then ran/sprinted a few miles down the trail toward the vehicle before we even considered slowing down.

Not many situations in which either one is something I’m desiring though, and while I’m not a fan of limiting people, I can’t say I’ve ever needed 30rds at once. Honestly, I buy 10rd mags just because they fit very nicely in some cases I already had, and the 30rds don’t.

Be honest… Have you recently taken psych-101.

My old laptop is coming up on a decade old, and I want to turn it into a shop computer that runs my various printers and lasers, maybe a cnc mill/lathe one day.

Currently it’s just sitting next to everything, waiting to be turned on again, but I don’t want to do too much until I get it into some kind of protective casing. Shop duty is rough on computers…

Sometimes for gits and shiggles, I’ll check the one star reviews for things I know are going to trip inexperienced people up.

Like… It’s basically the “substituted flour with powdered eggplant and milk with tobacco sauce, 1/10 tasted horrible but I followed the recipe exactly” meme

Especially anything with DIY properties. “doesn’t work, connected to the battery and it immediately blew up” when it’s clear from the picture they hooked a 48v battery into a 12v speed controller. Or cut some wires they weren’t supposed to. Or reversed polarity of an important component. Or…

And rather than admit they fucked it up, they give bad reviews.

I particularly like when the listing is clearly for something that requires assembly, and bad reviews complain it came “in pieces”. READ, YOU DENSE MOTHERFUCKERS

And if you see a bunch of bad grammar, and inconsistent specs in a listing… Maybe don’t put too much faith in the $5 item that would cost $100 if you bought it from a licensed and certified source with quality assurance…

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer…

All I’ve ever heard about planet coaster is that it’s an unfinished mess that got half-finished with hundreds of dollars of dlc, so hearing another is in the works is kind of like…

Here’s my take:

the people profiting off shows and podcasts where they do this sort of thing are absolutely immoral, bordering on outright bad. Evil is a bit too intense, but you get the idea. Unless they’re donating any revenue to help children, then they’re shitty.

The people doing the baiting are only immoral IN MY OPINION if they are the ones to initiate things. If they sit back and passively respond while the guy starts sending dick pics and suggesting they meet to have sex, then it’s not immoral in my opinion. When they go into a conversation with “I’m a minor, let’s meet for [REDACTED]” then it’s still wrong.

Of course, on the other side of the screen, the guy either suggesting or agreeing with meeting up is clearly always in the wrong.

Both parties involved can be in the wrong.
