IME its not completely intolerable but I’m sure it depends on how vital you consider having bulletproof email. there are a lot of moving parts and fiddly things to configure and IP blacklist/reputation systems which all do make it suck. If you jump through all the hoops it should be usable unless you’re super unlucky
