Dogs are animals, and no amount of training can make it certain they will not attack, because, as you say, they are individuals. Therefore a well-trained Pitbull remains more dangerous than a well-trained [insert literally any other dog breed here].
I absolutely love dogs, including Pitbulls. I despair at what humans have done with selective breeding, by giving Pugs a lifetime of health problems, Pitbulls a greater chance of being euthanised, greyhounds a brain the size of a pea etc., etc. The right thing to do is to vote with our feet and stop the demand for breeds that shouldn’t exist. The real villains here are the people creating pure bred pits for profit.

Do you think that stereotyping applies here, then? You seem minded to agree that pitbulls are more dangerous in fact than other breeds, given you won’t participate one way or the other. So if pitbulls are in fact more dangerous then if would be reasonable, rather than irrational stereotyping, to be more wary of them, and to label them as more dangerous.
That may be true in the US. Here in the UK there is no such correlation, and yet pitbulls here still cause more injuries and deaths than all other breeds combined. Odd, that.

Why do you hate foreigners so much?
Not at all, I like to disagree, that’s one way of learning new stuff. But your views are so at odds with reality there is very little chance of me learning from you.
crapwittyname@feddit.ukto News@lemmy.world•Controversial ‘ICE List’ features photos and names of 100 immigration agents61·10 days agoNo, it’s not. But you really should take advice and pick up a history book. There are a terrifying amount of parallels with ICE and literally every single dictator’s secret police, not just the Gestapo.
What you remember from history is the endgame of this, and we’re not there yet. If you want to get the comparisons you need to read a little about how things got to the point where millions of Jewish people (and others, mind, it wasn’t only Jewish) were genocided.
crapwittyname@feddit.ukto News@lemmy.world•Controversial ‘ICE List’ features photos and names of 100 immigration agents72·10 days agoNo no, you revealed yourself when you assumed that people who don’t agree with the existence of ICE want to “defend foreigners”. It’s nationalist shite, and it’s really old.
Edit: and yes, it’s an echo chamber. That’s why I’m here: so I don’t have to deal with people like you.

crapwittyname@feddit.ukto Cool Guides@lemmy.ca•Early warning guide, US holocaust museum.English10·13 days agoIt’s an interesting point you raise. The media has mutated since the list was written, now encompassing anyone with an opinion and an internet connection. Where in the past the media was more centralised and therefore more easy to control totally, now it’s very difficult to eradicate dissent completely - the media has become more aligned to the masses than to the elites. So a different approach is needed to get to totalitarianism.
My take is that they’re already applying pressure to the new media, and it might be the last thing to buckle. Perhaps left wing content creators will be criminalised soon (NSPM-7 could be the first step, or indeed the only step, in practice to this end) and then we only have to wait until the 2028 election to be able to shout “Bingo”.

It’s not normal to have your flight cancelled by the powers that be because you wrote something. He can’t be blamed for not thinking of absolutely everything that might go wrong and acting on each.
The bottom line is that he should, by law and rights, have been allowed to travel.
So the reports very much ARE evidence of systemic abuse. It’s definitely not conclusive, but the only way to get that is to infiltrate or dismantle the IDF prison system, which isn’t happening any time soon.
For the five people interviewed, all five reported abuse, which is a 100% rate. It’s a very small sample, but based on the limited information available, every single prisoner is abused, and 20% witness sexual violence (which suggests another, unknown amount of prisoners are the victims). What we know to place this in context:
-
Palestinians are referred to as “human animals” by defence minister Yoav Gallant
-
Palestinians (not just Hamas, mind) are regularly dehumanised in Israeli discourse
-
There are plenty of other examples of reported mistreatment. Search “Israeli mistreatment of Palestinian prisoners” to educate yourself further on this issue.
I think it’s fair to state as fact that Israel are mistreating their Palestinian prisoners, and all we lack are details on exactly how, how much, and how often. There are no similar reports with regards to Israeli prisoners in Israel for example, so it’s fair to say also that it’s only Palestinian prisoners who are treated this way. Since Palestinians have been the bogeyman for modern Israel since its founding, this is kind of the default position.

It’s very difficult to count, because non-Palestinian journalists aren’t allowed to enter, and Palestinian journalists aren’t allowed to continue being alive.Edit to add, because I just reread this: comparing Jews displaced from Arab countries to Palestinians displaced by Israel is frankly, fucking base racism — simultaneously antisemitic and islamophobic. If I wasn’t so disgusted I’d be impressed.
crapwittyname@feddit.ukto World News@lemmy.world•Zelensky confirms Israel sent Patriot missile battery to Ukraine, says more coming in fallEnglish21·24 days agoYou’re entitled to your opinion on the matter of course. And the saddest realisation is that because of the industrial scale of the killings, human lives are a rounding error and we will never know the true number.
It looks like about 140000 Palestinians killed between 1948 and 2023, with about 40000 more confirmed since 2023. My source is the Palestinian Central Bureau for Statistics.
In addition to that, millions (yes millions) of Palestinians have been displaced, including two million since 07.10.2023.
So when op said:
killing and displacing millions of people.
They were 100% correct, in fact. There is not a shred of absurdity in this claim, and it can’t be considered misinformation.
