.gitignore doesn’t prevent things from being committed. It just tells git to ignore files that aren’t already being tracked. And you can easily override that with -f. Putting .gitignore inside of .gitignore will ignore itself (if it’s not already tracked).

1·7 months agoSo… are you using nothing but FOSS from activist projects? That doesn’t seem like a big pool, from what I’ve seen. Or do you mean support as in with your time and/or money?

3·7 months agoAre you saying you don’t support FOSS projects that aren’t willing to engage in activism? A lot of us are morally aligned with you but aren’t willing to die on that hill. I think this age verification stuff is utter bullshit but if I were a maintainer of a project that was likely to be the target of one of these laws I would not be willing to put my livelihood on the line. Shaming people who are volunteering their time for being unwilling to endanger their livelihoods is pretty entitled IMO.
What part of it is unprofessional? You specifically called out the language OP used - that seems totally professional to me. The overall message sounds like throwing a tantrum to my ears but that’s not what you called out. How do you think it should be worded?
