The people don’t generally have much of a say in what headlines the media runs with. I fully support more social programs but there’s underlying issues that prevent good faith discussions.
Look at you, making sense and coming to a logical conclusion. Doesn’t sound good in headlines though, so it’ll never fly.
The noise is one of the best parts about ICE vehicles though.
I set low initial expectations at my job, automated and simplified nearly every task. I work less than 20 hours a week on average. I have time for basically all my hobbies and get to spend tons of time with my kid and wife. It may be a grey cubicle and annoying but it pays well and i can get fulfillment elsewhere. Feel like anybody trying to get fulfilling experiences from work is looking at the picture upside down
This kind of content taking off and the popularity of the Kardashians were the proverbial canary in the coal mine for the intellectual apocalypse we’re dealing with now. We are what we eat, and what you watch absolutely influences how you think and act.
Agreed. This system of giving out money and getting what we paid for sold back to us is fucking dumb.
I’ve never worked for a company where the CEO was a value add.
Get a filter for your tap water, then get the water cold. Both will reduce the flavor of the water, leaving you with crisp, neutral flavored water. If that doesn’t do it for you, look into an at home carbonation system, there’s guides for making your own if you don’t wanna do premade.
Not my choice of words, but the sentiment is spot on.
Yup, this is why the $80 price tag doesn’t bother me. I’ve got a backlog of games I want to play that I probably already can’t finish in my lifetime. This will be $20 a year post release and in two years that $20 will get you all the dlc as well.
Games at that time were cutting edge technology, distribution networks didn’t exist, physical units had to make it to stores, etc. The environment isn’t the same. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think $80 is terribly outrageous in our modern economy but at that price point it has better provide 60+ hours of entertainment. If outer worlds 2 is as good as #1 it’s worth $40 tops. I played that game end to end and can’t recall a single characters name.
The guy selling the car doesn’t tell you it runs like a horse, the guy selling you AI is telling you it has reasoning skills. AI absolutely has utility, the guys making it are saying it’s utility is nearly limitless because Tesla has demonstrated there’s no actual penalty for lying to investors.
That’s why I generally introduce myself as a Californian to foreigners, slightly less to be ashamed of.
This is probably the biggest factor for me, outside of my subs all the content it recommends is low effort AI content. “Oh cool a video about this historical thing I’m interested in.” Cuts to AI slideshow with bad grammar, pacing and no inflection, click don’t suggest videos from this creator. YouTube suggests similar slop from other “creators.”
The depressing thing is how often it works
I had an acquaintance ask me about my opinion on crypto a few years ago and I explained it only has the perceived value and is highly volatile as a result, and that all but a few coins were basically rug pulls waiting to happen. He was satisfied with that and moved on. About a year later crypto had roughly doubled in value and he gave me shit about bad advice (it was an opinion not investment advice) and proceeded to move $10k into some coin I’d never heard of. About a month later a mutual friend said the other guy had lost like $8k of his $10k investment. Next time I saw the acquaintance there was no mention of crypto.
As a millennial I get your anger, but the guy you’re responding to is right. An average working boomer had no more say in the policies enacted than you or I and the majority will be flat broke by the time they die, outlook isn’t much better for Gen X either. The establishment has done a wonderful job running us around and keeping us focused on the wrong fights. They’ve done it so well that even saying it sounds like a conspiracy theory to me when I know it to be true.
The tax rates for the ultra wealthy need to be increased to post WW2 levels, we need to get corporate money out of politics and the news. The people in power hold nearly all the cards and have convinced everyone the cards we hold are useless or immoral. The truth is we need better ways to organize and connect with local like-minded people to pool resources, hinder competition and bring the oligarchs down.
I too am from a place bidets are rare, literally don’t know anybody else who has one. But after that first wash I was changed, made a true believer; anybody who talks bad about bidets is shit talking something I love. Try one, join us on the smug and clean side of butthole’s.
Not a repair tech, but this matches my experience maintaining and repairing my appliances. My early 80s whirlpool range and oven have had small issues here and there, but generally require swapping one part hidden behind some screws and will take under an hour. My Samsung dishwasher not only does a piss poor job, it also throws LC codes every few days. After the fourth time pulling it from the cabinet I had to put a series of shims to lift the leak sensor off the drip tray and buy a separate Wi-Fi moisture detector. My Samsung fridge (4yo) has a broken door ice dispenser and intermittently decides not to dispense water too. Old LG unit had a linear compressor that shit the bed three times before they refused to do any more warranty work on it.
