Unrelated, I’ve been to the church and the cemetery. That cemetery scene in the movie isn’t accurate. There was physically no place to hide.

The thing that is being buried by most headlines and maybe articles is that ICE is a part of Department of Homeland Security. One such part of DSH is Homeland Security Investigations. People are conflating the two. HSI has been for many years at such international events with a U.S. presence to conduct investigations regarding international crime and terrorism.

EDIT: I should have clarified that it is HSI that is in Italy, not ICE.

I’ve been to Santa Rosa (which is named checked in the movie) and Russian River (yes the brewery’s tasting room too). Maybe I was conflating the times I’ve driving those freeways and highways in the area. Doesn’t seem very isolated. I’m not sure how true this is, but I read somewhere (a long time ago) that the driving scene was meant to depict the 101 but the shots were filmed closer to the coast.

This makes so much sense now. If it was some other religious entity, they probably wouldn’t have done this.

EDIT: It is shocking that any such organization can claim to preach acceptance for all people when they put on their website they hate non-heterosexual people. The mega church where I live has the same thing posted too.
