12·3 days agoIt’s odd, because I notice people I follow on Mastodon mentioned/being mentioned in places and if they have a Bluesky presence, it is that that is named usually. Like on podcast I hear people on I follow Mastodon decade to promote Bluesky instead. Or certain people who are Trek related, post things on Mastodon but if they have a Bluesky presence, that is what is brought up.

That could legally be an area which might make enforcement of a law hard. I don’t know how these laws work, just throwing the idea out there. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. The article specifically mention California and Illinois.

31·3 days agoThe Next Generation episode “Thine Own Self” has an A-plot that sees Data having to go retrieve radioactive metal. He gets into a shuttle accident, landing on a planet where he loses his memory. The inhabitants of the planet give him the name Jayden. Is Jay-Den named after this episode?

What actor from Trek’s past, that primarily wore lots of makeup and prosthetics, do you look up at as a acting role model?

131·5 days agoThe moment we present a political or personal belief we violate the law … the color of the hands is crossing the political boundary.
Attorney General Raúl Labrador later issued guidance stating the “Everyone Is Welcome Here” poster violated the law. In an opinion published on the attorney general’s website and in an op-ed for Fox News, Labrador described the poster as “DEI messaging disguised as inclusion” that "mask[s] a comprehensive worldview that undermines parental authority over children’s moral development.
That’s just fucked up. This guy believes that telling children those who don’t look like them should be welcome is bad.
