My wife forbids me from getting any large appliances for any 1 thing, so I could never convince her to get a ride cooker. Instead we got an InstaPot that we use exclusively to cook rice. It’s way different (trust me)

I disagree. I think you want to keep a small MOI because that allows you to control a tipping carton with the least amount of torque. At least that’s how I’ve been justifying by method of taking from the outsides, in.
It’s much harder to control a stick with weights in the ends, ESPECIALLY if the weights are unbalanced (which they will be unless you’re only using even numbers of eggs. )
I’m essence, yeah. I had nothing but nice things to say about the current company I was working for. Liked my job, like the company, boss, etc. Whenthe interviewers asked why I was leaving I told them that it was a small, family owned business (not my family). I loved working there but I’m only making about half the market value for my degree. The current boss told me from the start that he wouldn’t be able to pay what I’m worth, but asked that I learn what I could there, then let them know when I’m going to move on. I relayed all that to my interviewers and they loved it. Later they cited that answer as one of the reasons they hired me.
I don’t want to haggle those things either!
I use immich but if there are 100 people in this room, at least 99 of them know more than me so definitely don’t weigh my words too heavily.
When I go for a bowl of cereal, I pour out as much cereal as I want, then add the appropriate amount of milk. I would NEVER pour myself a hearty bowl of milk and then just cereal to taste. That’s the part that feels craziest to me.
As I understand it, something like that happened with the game, Alliance. It was a RTS where humans had to control all the units that the commander build and ordered around.
I learned about this, probably 15 years ago, and I never played, so a lot of this might be outdated or just plain wrong.
I think Microsoft published the game, and eventually abandoned it. It still had a thriving mod community but they were struggling due to the lack of source code and support. Apparently, years after working on the game, one of the designers happened across an Internet forum talking about the struggles they were having. The designer then went back to his bosses and said, “We abandoned this years ago, can I just give them the source code?” I guess they did and since then the mod started making HUGE fundamental changes to the game.
For me, I saw very little benefit to RSS until I hosted fulltextrss. Most of the feeds I subscribed to, the RSS feed just gave you the headline, and made you load up the full website and all the ads to read the article. They don’t really want you just skimming the good stuff and skipping the ads.
Fulltextrss basically loads in the full articles, pictures and all (if you so choose). It means I can read stories from all the sources I want, without really leaving my RSS reader.
But remember when we found out CFC’s were damaging the ozone layer? Somehow scientists convinced everybody to switch to more expensive, less effective refrigerants, and then it all got better. Gosh, we didn’t know how good we had it back then.
This is a post right now because prices have (hopefully) temporarily spiked. My grocery store had a sign apologizing, blaming avian flu+high demand, and promising to keep their process competitive. I think 2 bucks is normal for us too but right now they’re over $5.
Extra, the green mint is my favorite but every once in a while I’ll pick a different color. To me, extra is the only gum where the flavor lasts longer enough to be worthwhile.
Please wait. Before the suffix -gate goes away for good I want a fence-related scandal that we can call gate-gate. Then it can be retired.
I really like the stuff but that description is TOO accurate.
I wrote out 1 check per month to my son’s (4y/o) dance studio. I shall initially write the wrong year on every check from now through April.
My last apartment had a low-pile carpet in the kitchen. That house was “planned” about as strictly as the English language.
Time. My wife is a school teacher and I’m an engineer at a place that shuts down from Christmas through new years. I absolutely love having no schedule and just waking up every day with the kids and figuring out who were going to see and how were going to spend our time. It’s an absolute luxury and I love it so much.
In our area, the only water supply WITH Fluoride serves an area with a median HOUSEHOLD income of less than $40k with more than 25% living below the poverty line. For communities like these the fluoride is critical because there will be a lot of children that don’t have access to fluoride supplements, or regular care from a pediatric (or regular) dentist.
You can get even more granular than that. CDC maintains a list of water systems and whether or not they add fluoride. CDC My Water System. To give you an idea of how granular that is, there are 78 different water systems in my county alone. For most of my life I assumed we had fluoridated water but apparently only 1/78 of our water systems are. I only checked when we had kids and I needed to know whether or not I needed to give them Fluoride Drops.
Hahaha cursed autocorrect
