  • it had quite a few gems. The WipEout games were some of the best in the series, the God of War games were very good. Battlefield II on it was great. Final Fantasy Tactics and Crisis Core. Jeanne D’Arc was one of the best tactics game ever. Ys Seven, Megaman Powered Up, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Ape Escape, the Killzone game on it was very good, LocoRocco 1 and 2, Final Fantasy Dissida, Monster Hunter, Daxter, Special Agent Clank, and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

  • I’m sorry but at this point, I don’t care anymore.

You can call me anti-semetic all you want that term has very little meaning to me now and that’s purely because of the bullshit that Israel is doing to a people that simply can’t defend themselves. The fact that Israel is committing the SAME bullshit that was committed to them nearly 100 years ago because they feel it’s “their turn” is absolute pure evil.

I can’t stand it. I grew up Catholic but I hate Christianity because of all the bullshit that group has done in the name of God. I can hate the Jews for the same reason. If you’re Jewish and you condemn what your people are doing then great, I respect you for it. Just like I can respect Christians that speak out against the bullshit they’ve done. But Jewish “settlers” burning homes and attacking people because they feel they’re owed the land? torturing infants and toddlers? Call me an anti-semite. I don’t care.

  • There are many viable and better alternatives than what’s on that list. there’s really nothing there that should make you think “oh…I don’t know what to use now” most of the stuff listed is garbage anyways. Like take Zen Browser for example. you can essentially do that yourself on just about any fork of firefox by simply editing the userChrome.css. Librewolf is another example of “doing it yourself” on just about any fork or firefox or just firefox itself.

VLC doesn’t surprise me, dude rants all the time about how great vibe coding is.

    Librewolf doesn’t surprise me.

Kitty 100% does NOT surprise me. The dev is an absolute tool who thinks his shit don’t stink but the guy has no clue what he’s doing at that end of the day. he rags on multiplexers or the simple act of copying via keyboard multiple lines in the terminal cause he DOESN’T know how to do it so therefore those things are “garbage”. of course he uses copilot, when it comes to AI he doesn’t even know of a “good” one to use. Don’t use Kitty, it’s slop from end to end. For example launch tmux in Kitty and then try to change your “kitten theme”…I’ll wait.

  • Plus even by early 90s standards the dad was loaded. I mean look at their house in a rich suburb in Chicago, the fact that he paid for his and his extended families christmas vacations to Paris and whatever the other place was supposed to be. His family was rich too. He had a brother or something that lived in France and another that had a place in NYC under renovation.

  • basically RetroDeck is a one and done type of deal. one package (flatpak) that has everything pre-configured and good to go as opposed to say RetroArch where you have to pick your cores (emulators) and what have you. on say a SteamDeck something like RetroDeck is naturally going to be easier to use and set up but when it comes to a Linux desktop it’s all really a non-factor. Like for example most distro repos have either a complete library of the cores for Retroarch or you can pick and choose which ones you want. like on Arch for example the package “libretro” will give you everything or on Nix/NixOS you can pick and choose which ones to install with Retroarch.

  • imho in a weird way cassettes were better/more fun. Like wanting to record a song you like so you’d sit in front of the tape deck for hours on end listening to the radio waiting for that ONE song to come on so you could record it. It would take you hours, maybe even days, to make that mixtape of songs you didn’t own.

Also when I was a kid I had one of those fisher price tape decks that had the microphone attached to it. I wanted to make a mix tape of all my favourite songs from my NES games or games that I would rent (like the Battletoads theme song, or the music from the Batman videogame) so I would pop the game in then hold the microphone up to the TV speaker and record the songs.
