  • If you want to host it on your own webserver, Wordpress is best answer. There is no CMS that will really compare to WP for ease of set up and configuration if you are hosting yourself. WP is also portable so if you do decide to move it to a different host you can port the whole site. Should know that WP is a security nightmare if its not kept updated. It requires ACTIVE maintenance, like every day, no longer than every week, it is not “set it and forget it”.

Editing to add- self hosted Drupal and Joomla are also options. I not as familiar with these as I am WP, but they are both portable and easy to set up in a self hosted environment. Also maybe slightly less of a security issue than WP as they are just used less.

If you don’t mind someone else hosting, Wix, Weebly, Duda or Squarespace are very simple systems that can get a site up for you quickly and looking decent. But you cannot move the site to a new host, you are required to stay within their environments.

  • Asking because I honestly don’t know, for the laundry detergent recipe, does it matter that I was always told to get HE detergent? I was under the impression that the soap for “high efficiency” washers was different somehow than normal soap. I am ready to admit I was conned by the detergent industry and this is just marketing speak, but I also don’t want to fuck up my washer, it cost a lot of money I don’t have to replace it.

  • G602

AH I have that one too, loved it for years but then the click went out and it started double clicking randomly. I took it apart to try and fix it and no luck, its in my dead mouse drawer along with 2 G302s, the MK mouse, a M240, several Microsoft mice, a Naga, Death Adder and 5 cheap no name mice. They aren’t all actually dead, just dead to me.

I ended up replacing it with the G502, which is not an upgrade or even a side grade but it works for what I need it to do for now. For my laptop I am using a cheap no name bluetooth mouse for now. It’s way too light and disconnects randomly, but it has bluetooth and 5 buttons with is the minimum count I need.

  • I have been looking for just the right mouse for ages and the market for mouses (mice?) is terrible. I’ve been looking for a 5 button mouse that supports bluetooth (reliability) and I am actually so frustrated with what the options are. They are either massively over engineered, huge, expensive paper weights or cheap, super light, cheap junk I can crush with my weak feminine hands. I have ranged from top of the line hundred dollar gaming one to junky light weight 10 dollar ones and I am still looking. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

  • Its is semantics, but also this is science and semantics are important. If we want to get really in to semantics we should say the experiments were done on humans, as the embryo, fetus, baby, toddler, pre-teen, teenager, and adult are all phases of the human life cycle and this experiment was done to produce genetically modified humans. Even CRISPR experiments refer to the organism model when experimenting, not the life cycle phase, unless it is specifically part of the experiment IE: in vitro vs In vivo

Saying the medical experiments were done on babies specifically is for the shock value, and it works, look at the reactions it gets. This should be a hotly debated topic, people should be concerned about the ethics of gene editing and how it is regulated. This experiment was not ethical in anyway and it was criminal, but using hyperbole to inflate the shock value for engagement is also not the way to communicate how unethical and criminal this is.

  • I totally agree, I do believe what he did was unethical and criminal.

I also believe the clarification on if the experimenting was done on live human babies or if it was done on human embryos is exceeding important. Implying that this was done on live human babies is basically misinformation. Just look at the rest of this thread and how people are talking about this, everyone is discussing this as if its was living, breathing, crying babies that were experimented on, not a clump of cells before they have any type of living functionality.

If anything what you said should be included, he experimented on embryos with the intent of them being born and becoming babies. But it most definitely should not be “he carried out medical experiments on babies”, because that is patently untrue.
