Today I Learned@lemmy.world•TIL children in Australia leave out beer for Santa.English
9·2 months agoI’m Australian and I’ve never heard of it
Going to need a fact check on this because this sounds like a situation where someone posts obvious bullshit and people believe it until someone who actually live in the country question it
Edit:
Just had a look at tje article and none of it has sources, mental floss just links to other articles on their sites with keywords
This article strongly smells of bullshit to the point that it’d start the black plague again with how much bullshit is just left lying around

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some gross or disgusting facts about the human body that people aren't aware of?
1·2 months agoDon’t humans start out with them before they then later develop into the anus and genitals if I’m remembering my random Internet rabbit hole searches correctly

I recently watched that ST:VOY episode with Leonardo Da Vinci so I can’t stop mentally associating this guy with him
I’m sorry but who is she for me and others that don’t live in a*erica because I have no clue who she is

10·2 months ago“Hoement” immediately stuck out to me and sounds like a portmanteau of “hoe” and “moment”
Sounds cool enough to be used as slang
Without context this sounds very dirty.
Would putting it in a gyroscope work?
Nah, just make a religous cult out of it
You’d think they’d make a custom trailer that’s low to the ground as possible at this point.
When there’s a countdown in a movie where something must be done before it’s finished but the entire scene takes longer than the countdown.
Why do you have the netscape logo?
I live in Australia and don’t recall my school at all teaching me this in maths class
They taught us stuff like radius and area of a circle but not this
Edit:
Also counterpoint, people exist that live in other countries and every countries education system is different
You need to actually use your brain
Its like a muscle and if you don’t use muscles they acclimate to the lack of use
Its because its:
2+5×(8−5)
My calculator app automatically added it when typing in what was in the image and “2+5×(8−5)” does equal 17.
It’s absolutely the fault of the person making the social media media post for not writing it properly and confusing people.

You do realise it’s waste product not suitable for human consumption
For example waste spy product from the production of your soy milk which also uses a ton of water and drives deforestation
The farms also kill farm pests with use of farming machines, pesticides and shotguns

This isn’t trolling, it’s just the article author making up unfactual bs
