UN Security Council to meet.English1·1 year agogood point about the weight, afaik modern control systems are pretty decent at ignoring flares anyway. it seems to me that a smaller interceptor rocket would be more maneuverable than the drones, though not sure about the latency between sensing and actuation.

UN Security Council to meet.English13·1 year agofrom what i can find the iron dome uses radar to detect incoming projectiles, but the interceptor missiles themselves use optical sensors to lock on. i don’t think swerving would be enough. maybe flares would be effective since it was mostly designed to counter simple unguided rockets, but i’m not sure.

yuli [she/her]@hexbear.netto news@hexbear.net•At least 40 dead, dozens injured after attackers open fire inside busy Moscow-area concert venue, Russian state media reports | CNNEnglish29·1 year agoi’m honestly not sure if the us had an active role in this, nor do i think the us would necessarily warn their own citizens if they did. but i am curious how strong us signal intelligence is within russia. did these terrorists operate from within russia and was the us able to pick up on their activity there? did they operate from within ukraine, where us intelligence has far better access? did they eavesdrop on fsb activity? something else entirely?
just saw while typing this that islamic state claimed responsibility, i have no clue where this is going tbh
