There was a place on the north side of Chicago, where if you wandered in shortly before closing, you could get a garbage can pizza, where they throw all the ingredients they’re going to be tossing out at the end of the night onto your pizza. They only made it for regular customers, but it was a good deal since they charged regular price, but it was loaded with so much stuff.
It was good, and while it didn’t have snails, cherries, carrots or lobster, it did have some garlic usually, and sometimes cherry tomatoes, and sometimes shrimp. But, most importantly, since i was working only part time then, it was a great deal and fed me for a couple of days.
I don’t recall this kind of style as a trend for restaurants, or for anything for that matter.

It was usually the start of a night out. I was a young man in Chicago, and took advantage of it while i could.
