Didn’t we used to have to sign the receipt that the store keeps, and they give us a copy to keep for our records?Or an e-signature on an electronic device. Is this still a thing? Or do I just not get out much lately?
Maybe it’s just a restaurant thing. I literally haven’t been to a restaurant since 2023.
I think it also has to do with the banks loosening requirements.
Rarely did merchants ever check for matching signatures anyway and it was just a waste of everybody’s time and a waste of paper.
