You gotta support the guy like a rope supports a hanged man. If he turns out to be the “new Obama” then it only proves us correct in the long run. I don’t know that meeting people with “I told you so!” energy is the right move though.
Pretty sure the perception among the masses that they’ve successfully voted in a besieged socialist is what will lead to future radicalization, not online leftists throwing around “I told you sos” on niche forums
I don’t support AOC or Bernie, they’re dogshit and engage in active deradicalization, Zohran has better politics and is a better politician by far and is actively radicalizing the largest city in America
Zohran has given socialism more clout in America than AOC and Bernie combined in ten years, and I haven’t even brought up Zohran’s normalization of pro-Palestinian politics
You should be celebrating that AIPAC ate complete and total shit rather than wasting your own time calculating the exact time when you have permission to “act smug”
I never said that about AOC and Bernie, I was one of the realists getting pooped on during the later days of the old sub before the Bernie crash
But Zohran is different, and there are quite a few hints that should clue you in to his uniqueness; he knows how to use dogwhistles (for the left), he knows how to play social media, he knows how to craft wonk policy positions that actually benefit the left, he actually fights back when the media snaps at him, he knows how to use rhetoric, he’s pro-Palestinian (which if he was a grifter would be a complete non-starter)
Leftists are too busy making speculative Obama comparisons and posting future Lenins
for us to make use of this victory for rhetorical agitation
Hate to say it, but large segments of the left are dead set on squandering this radicalizing opportunity
This isn’t a victory and people calling this guy the new Obama are the ones prompting future radicalization

I’m not saying you shouldn’t support AOCIA if you want to I just can’t promise I’m not going to act smug about it

This is exactly what people said about Bernie and AOC at the time.

That’s why he’s different to AOC and Bernie
FWIW I hope you end up getting to dunk on me for being wrong
They might as well be democrats with how addicted they are to losing
