The brain of Todd Howard is an enigma, I’ve never seen a capitalist who’s dedicated to NOT making money

It’s the easiest lay-up in the history of gaming:

      Skyrim 2: Now with Hammerfell

Fallout: New York, with modernized New Vegas characteristics

Boom billions, this shit really ain’t that hard

Unless you’re joking this is silly. They can’t just “pump them out.” The magic behind the old bethesda games (imo) was the world building and writing. Fallout 4 was basically just “here’s fallout in Boston” and it was so boring and poorly written to me.

Making a cohesive, deep, well written game is not an easy thing to do. You can’t just model some destroyed versions of some cities iconic buildings, sprinkle in power armor and super mutants and call it a good fallout game.

Starfield is even worse than fo4 lol. Todd just loves edging fans of his IPs. Although I’m surprised that Phil Spencer hasn’t forced obsidian to make more Bethesda titles. If I were him I’d reunite the old NV team and have them make me a fallout game.

It’s not an easy thing to do, but it’s possible, esp with the insane budget of hundreds of millions being pumped into the studio by Microsoft.

The time between kingdom come deliverance and KDC2 was like 6 years, and they’re incredibly deep well written stories with worlds that feel lived in. Bethesda is pushing ES6 to what, 2028 or 29?

Skyrim came out the year I graduated highschool, and I’m 33 now lmao.

I’d rather they get on the 3-5 year cycle like they were doing with oblivion -> FO3 -> FO:NV -> Skyrim.

These insane decades long development cycles seem overcooked nonsense. Just look at starfield, that was the most mid game I ever played and the devs themselves said it got stuck in development hell and they didn’t quite know what to do with the game so they tried to do everything which turned into doing nothing. An ocean wide, but an inch deep and all that.

God fucking damnit stop doing that people (Not you, the creators of new fallout media). Fallout since Bethesda took over has just refused to move on from stuff. Fallout and Fallout 2 made it quite clear that super mutants were a thing that happened once, it was a result of the FEV project and the FEV project is doneso with the Master’s death. They had a whole thing where the Super Mutants were both resigned to being a dying race and nostalgic for the time they almost conquered the world, and in New Vegas they are the focal point of themes about letting go of a world in which you no longer fit in and having to consider your impact in terms of legacy. The principal Mutant characters are either senile, or resigned to fading away (Or their arc concerns becoming okay with doing so).
Then in Bethesda fallout they’re fucking mass produced orcs who were always around, will always be around and can just super easily be made.
