choosing to read this as “there are 189,000 employed persons in the U.S.” because it’s funnier to imagine
that article… wow… you can invest in “Arrived” which is backed by “world-class investors like Jeff Bezos” to get shares in apartment buildings and just sit back and collect your cash!
And as of November 2025, Arrived has already paid out more than $19 million in dividends to over 900,000 registered investors.
You too could collect your $21 off the backs of your fellow barely-surviving neighbors!
Holy shit that article. Not only does it attempt to spin horrible jobs numbers but with rising disposable income (spoilers, the rich are the entire source of that increase) but it openly becomes an advertisement for some market investment app acorn so you too can benefit from the s&p 500’s line ever going up!
the mass layoffs in tech continute unabated. MS planning to drop another 10,000 in the coming weeks.
This has been the longest run of layoffs without any rebound in sight that I can recall.
Politicians don’t even pretend to care at this point, it’s just accepted now that these companies just aren’t going to have employees anymore and they’ll continue to collect their billions and trillions just the same.
Seems like energy prices going through the roof might have a bit of an impact on the whole data centre build out too which underpins the AI bubble.
The “marketplace” doesn’t seem to care. Politicians sure don’t feel the need to. They’re doing very well financially.
