This is a deeply important question
Mine is Aces High. That post chorus riff with the little pause fucking sends me. That RUNNING! SCRAMBLING! FLYING! Is goof, the riff during the verses harmozing with the vocals gradually. Sooo good
They have a lot of fun songs but I think I’d have to pick Run To The Hills because the song changes so much. The intro is great, then it builds throughout the verses. But all those singles from the 80s Dickinson era are great. I even don’t mind their later stuff with the 3 guitarists as the songs got longer and they do more harmonies
Im more into punk than metal, my favorite NWOBHM band is Tank. So im more about that sick driving sound they have and Run to the Hills is probably the least diluted version of the Iron Maiden Gallop. The attack on the vocals in the second verse is something else too, the way Bruce spits it out feels hateful in just the right way for the lyrics before switching to the falsetto and being sympathetic. Run to the Hills slaps. Also one of the besr intros ever
wasted years

I haven’t listened to that one in like 10 years. I can remember tho. Remember that you’re living in the golden years
Remember that you’re living in the golden years
tru 🤘
Giving a listen. It is way bigger feels now than last listen. Aging does fucking suck.
I’m partial to The Trooper, especially this cover by the Finnish folk band Steve ‘n’ Seagulls
The Trooper is riff heaven
The Trooper is my fav followed by Run to the Hills
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
I love Rainmaker. The lyrics and riffs are absolutely awesome
I have never heads anything that late in their career tbh. Ill give it a go
Edit: I got a minute in, I really dont like this song.
listening to this for the first time now too, i don’t think it’s bad but it does feel a bit off, like they’re copying the bands that copied them? the bridge sounds like something from in flames. same with the melody of the chorus, it’s less obvious because it uses the iron maiden guitar tones/vocals/tempo
It sounds like self parody and thars the besr i cam get at. I dont reallt know much melodic metal past rhe early 80s. Im a crust/grind/industrial guy
Bruce Dickinson is a goddamned Brexiteer piece of shit, but fuck me if I can stop myself from singing along to the chorus of “The Wicker Man.”
Honorable mention: “Hallowed Be Thy Name”
Bruce Dickinson is a goddamned Brexiteer piece of shit
Wait really? I always thought he was a generic lib politically.

He explained that he thought no matter what deal the UK was left with, “Brexit will not change the status of the [country] by very much”, except for enhanc[ing] our economic capabilities.” “That’s good for us and, in the long run, good for Europe as well,” he said. “Because as the fifth largest economy in the world, Europe would like access to our market.”
The frontman concluded that the “nonsense” around Brexit would soon be forgotten and people would “get on with doing what we should be doing, which is getting on with each other, trading with each other, making music, making love, and making sure that Vladimir Putin doesn’t come and end up ruling our country.”
Maybe stick to singing, Bruce.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner. That moment when it comes back after what you thought was a long outro is so great.
Run to the Hills, and while I could try to justify it some other way I’ll be honest. It’s because I had a group of friends that were really into Rock Band when it came out.
Rock Band taught me drums.
Revelations. I’m very bad, but I had lots of fun learning the bass line.
Its a fun bassline. It’s a weird one for Maiden and a weird song for em too. Sou ds like theyre trying to do Sabbath, learns.e Sabbath on bass. Geezer is fantastic and I found him easier to follow than others when I was learning.
Probably Run To The Hills, the riffs are catchy and the lyrics go hard.
Fear of the Dark
Run to the Hills. But I’m an Iron Maiden casual, I’ve only every really listened to The Number of the Beast.
