My computer died so I’m playing troubleshooting motherboard error lights simulator

If I was cool I’d keep playing Mega Man 4 or XCOM but I keep struggling against FF Tactics. My greatest foe.

I played the Travelling at Night demo, and it is the first Disco-like that doesn’t feel like a worse version of Elysium that uses or discards its elements without understanding them. Now, I’m not saying it will be better than those games, necessarily, but at least it’s doing enough of its own thing that it doesn’t feel like a fan game.

Im back into Galactic Civilizations 4. It’s a space 4X game, and I have about 20h in it. I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, it really nails that “one more turn” vibe. It also has nice music and the production values are generally pretty high. On the other hand, there is a lot of AI art in this game, which I think is a bit ridiculous for a larger production. (I can forgive it with smaller indie type games.)

Overall, fun game, though I feel like games tend to really start to drag in the later phases. But that’s similar in many Civ style games…I guess.

Edit: Also one of those games that REALLY makes use of your RAM if you have it and can support massive galaxies if you happen to have 64GB of RAM. If, for some reason, you wanna play games that last months.

I myself am good with mid-sized or huge maps at most, though, since games already take quite a while. As a cool sidenote, the base game without DLC does come with like 20+ playable alien races, which is much more than most games of this type, so that’s pretty cool. They are also a bit more asymmetrical, though not as much as something like Endless Space 2, at least on the level of the leaders in Civ 6.

Played Sandustry. It’s pretty good, I could see it becoming a larger and better game over the course of early access. Its pretty short right now though, and I stopped after completing the last unlock as like half my map is just useless gold I don’t know what to do with

I’ve been trying out emulating Bloodborne through shadPS4. My computer isn’t strong enough to do 60 fps or any upscaling, but regardless it works pretty well! There’s been occasional visual glitches and a few crashes, and I have to restart the emulator once in a while if I’m playing for a long time or I run into memory issues, but that’s stuff I can deal with. There’s even a WIP online server. Summoning/PvP doesn’t work yet, but you can see/leave messages, blood stains, and ghosts.

Been playing Pokemon Crystal Clear lately. Interacting with the Pokemon world without a clear goal is a super chill experience, you can roll through a town with a gym and just never go in because CC explicitly doesn’t gate you from going anywhere (although there are still optional areas that you can’t reach without cut, surf etc, so there’s an incentive, just not a requirement). I wish they’d do a mainline game with this kind of structure. Right now I’ve got an Eevee, Butterfree, Pikachu, and like a dozen other 'mons I’ve caught and immediately boxed and I’m wandering around having skipped Brock and Misty and the only badge I have is from Blue in Viridian. It’s a good game to pick up and play ten minutes at a time in between jobs on my phone with a “pocket taco” controller.

JUST GOT DIAMOND 1 WITH MARISA ON SF6

Still trying to get every achievement in sekiro, although I got distracted with Doloc Town. A game very much in the shadow of stardew valley but with better combat (a drone kills stuff for you while you gather) and exploration plus IMMACULATE vibes.

Been getting back into Foxhole. This war starting tuesday we are going to be focusing on air power and building heavy bombers and the new heavy fighters. We have a regiment anyone is free to join. Third International Volunteer Brigade. We also have a few other regiments in our coalition. We play colonials.

We also run tank and artillery operations as well as quite a few dedicated logistics players. All the coalition regiments are also pretty cool as far as gamers go including many comrades. I am hoping this war to also run some paratrooper operations.

Been playing Capycraft, one of the Turtle WoW life rafts that the SEA devs spun up, majority of the community is Chinese and I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit, very jealous of how extravagant they can get with their names, my favorite so far is “Little Cow Riding A Bike”. I assume most of the reactionaries that are pervasive on English speaking private servers were scared to play somewhere they would be the minority and everyone has been very pleasant.

I’ve been playing Valkyria Chronicles 3’s English fan translation recently. A shame it never made it into the West as most people would probably have preferred it over the high school anime antics of Valkyria Chronicles 2. Of course, most people would have preferred the series not move over to the PSP which was probably the real reason the second game sold like shit. I mostly like the angle the story takes but hate the romance subplot where you have to choose between two designated waifus. One is underage and the other is every annoying anime heroine trope rolled into one

Played some Aether & Iron, a visual novel with light RPG and tactical combat mechanics. It takes place in an alt-history 1930s New York where a technological breakthrough allowed for floating cities and floating cars; the tactical combat takes place between cars driving around.

You play as a grizzled smuggler (who’s a woman, so it’s actually good) tasked with smuggling a bright young scientist to safety. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but the job the player character takes is one that’s supposed to be easy, but ends up being much more complicated and dangerous than it seems. I’ve never watched or read a yuri, but the smuggler and scientist together give off big yuri vibes.
